Yet another Espio headcanon!
We've all seen how Espio takes things too literally, not because he can't read between the lines, but because he is very logical and that is where his mind goes first:

That said, my headcanon is that, while he is dense when it comes to irl innuendos, his media literacy is so high that you could present him with the most allegorical, metaphorical, subtle references to intimacy in literature/art/music and he would actually get it IMMEDIATELY.
•People flirting with him? He doesn't get what they are up to❌;
•Watching the Bacchanale scene in the ballet adaptation of Camille Saint-Säens "Samson et Dalila" and immediately understand that it metaphorically depicts an 0rgy through the intricacies of ballet body language? ✅
"Ok Espio, i am confused here... How does... this represent intimacy?"
"Well, you see, Vector, the way the male dancers pick up the female dancers so gracefully and make them spin with their bodies so intertwined, as the percussions, the violins and the wind instruments reach such a powerful climax... It's so obviously clear."
"RIGHT. Obvious. What do YOU know about being obvious?!"
