You're welcome! Budge is so widely available because he's long out of copyright, so everyone has his books and every Egyptologist is screaming at you not to use them. The amount of times I've had him quoted at me as evidence I'm wrong, when I'm citing the source that literally updates his work and contradicts it is not a small number. As was said in Stargate 1994:

(they had an Egyptological consultant for that film. Those glyphs are real and it was a concerted effort to ditch Budge forever. Sadly this has not come to pass)

The translation of the Book of the Dead that is one I would recommend and would be easy to get hold of as a layperson is R.O.Faulkner's translation of Ani's papyrus. There's a British Museum version that's revised by Carol Andrews (sometimes also Ogden Goelet - both are Egyptologists) and is so, so much better. Faulkner was an amazing linguist, and his translation was published posthumously in 1985, 3 years after his death. Unlike Budge's translation, it has been revised several times by other Egyptologists (see the Carol Andrews version) and is the best you're gonna get. It's also £24 in paperback on Amazon, or £25 for hardback in Waterstones.
