i’ve been thinking more about this scene and why it’s important to me. and i think it comes down to: when john says it was out of character, they both know he’s right.

very often in scifi eps where a character makes sexual advances on someone else because they are possessed or under sex pollen or whatever, it’s shown that they were just doing what they always wanted to do. with their inhibitions lowered, they’re just doing what is ‘natural.’

but not this.

in every single encounter where john sheppard kisses someone, he waits for them to kiss him first, no matter how interested he seems to be in the proceedings (please see: chaya, teer, mara, larrin, even his possessed kiss with elizabeth)–except for when he’s possessed by horny bug syndrome.

the kiss with teyla was something neither of them would have wanted. which makes the emotional arc of this apology that much more intense. and unexpected and important.

Something that makes me laugh about Point of View (despite it being sad episode) is when Jack first sees Alternate Sam and the first thing he says it, "What happened to you?" Because her hair was suddenly long

Was he really just standing there thinking some alien device had made her hair grow like that? Because thats so funny to me
