It's easy to point at a movie or TV show or book or fic and say "head injuries don't work like that" or "they would be dead of blood loss" and so on and so forth.
But when we're talking fantasy/sci-fi/something else where we are already making some counter-to-reality assumptions—
Canon has clearly established that in-universe, head injuries (for example) do work like that.
In most cases canon has not clearly stated that in-universe human biology is the same as real-world human biology.
So, given the ways in which injuries/medicine/illnesses have been seen to work in canon, what can we conclude about the unseen biological differences there must be?
before you say "science (biology, physics, etc...) doesn't work like that!" you should ask yourself "did the narrative ever establish that this world follows the same rules ours does?" or did it even specifically establish (through the inclusion of magic, or implausible sci-fi elements) that it doesn't?
I feel like not enough people realize that people under enormous strain act really really fucking Weird
Me this weekend
The real issue between Tim Allen's Jason and Alan Rickman's Alexander in Galaxy Quest was that Jason was blissfully unaware of any of the fanfic people had written about their two characters while Alexander had been asked in detail about some of the finer points of Mak'tar "biology" at every con since the 80s
My good friend @thetrekkiehasthephonebox why would you hide this excellent commentary in the tags

they should invent a secret second weekend so that you can see friends and do fun things while still having enough time to do errands and sleep in without dying of exhaustion all the time

Heavymedic!! First time drawing both of these guys so uhh,, we trying lmao
Heavy has to lean forward to try to match medics height,, and medic is pretty damn tall
Star Wars is truly at its peak when the droids are practical and semi-shitty looking which is honestly just to say that I get an instant boost of serotonin when a gonk droid shows up
Look at this thing it sucks and I love it
I love that it’s purpose is somewhere between a battery and an extension cord
A big heavy power supply that has legs and the simplest possible droid brain for knowing where it’s needed because that’s canonically cheaper and easier than making a big heavy battery you have to move around yourself
Happy pride to the murder couple George and Maurice from The Mad Doctor (1940)!!
