i know people are all over the world is mine and starry sea songs when it comes to the CPK OST but im begging people to pay a little more attention to ex-otogibanashi bcs i really think it was during that performance that it clicked for iroha's feelings for kaguya. during the whole performance of world is mine we see a nervous iroha, she's hyper focused on playing the keyboard and she's always in the background, flustered, letting kaguya and yachiyo be the main focus of the show unless the both of them interacted directly with her like the famous scene of yachiyo teasing a flustered iroha and kaguya being jealous yada yada. but during ex-otogibanashi? a song whose lyrics are about the tale of the bamboo cutter and how it's their own story and not the one that it's always told? kaguya makes sure to interact with iroha directly, first by dancing for her instead of facing the crowd like she does during most of world is mine or like yachiyo was doing in that very moment.
and just a few seconds later we have kaguya literally dragging iroha towards the spotlight, making her actually realize how their music was impacting people and basically restoring the love for music iroha had long ago.
and after this moment? iroha is much more comfortable, not that fixated on her keyboard and actually enjoying the show and even participating in the choreography.
but what hit me the most? the fact that during basically the whole song she doesn't take her eyes off kaguya, even though yachiyo is also right there following practically the same choreo, iroha's eyes are following kaguya (i think i counted like 2 times where iroha actually looks at yachiyo, her literal crush since forever lol)
and then we get this moment right here, when they're dancing on a line and kaguya lays her hands on yachiyo's shoulders with iroha in the middle and iroha looks back at kaguya and her expression softens when she sees kaguya's smile. kaguya has her eyes closed in this moment, so she doesn't catches iroha's expression (i point this out bc later in the movie kaguya says to yachiyo that she wishes she was her so she could've gained iroha over) it's in this moment i wholeheartedly believe it clicked for iroha, she's in love with this chaotic, flashy and full of life alien princess.
