in the sense that he could be intentionally misrepresenting his culture to save face or fuck with grace, i think he can be trusted not to unless it's very obvious that he's lying for the bit. in the sense that he's an accurate representation of a "normal", well-adjusted, mentally stable eridian? he's cooked. he's been alone on a ship full of corpses for over 40 years. my guy is walking around naked in a giant hampster ball and eating in front of his bestie like it's nothing. he's experiencing the eridian equivalent of stress psychosis and trying to play it cool because his species doesn't know about PTSD yet.
