kind of love rocky being like ok this weird clueless alien who is so easily entertained by everything i do is a perfect vessel to sink all my ptsd neuroses into and then by the time we're done here i'll have worked all that out of my system and no one on erid will ever have to know that i couldn't even be alone for long enough to eat. and then he starts to see grace as an equal and as an incredibly intelligent person and is like oh noooo. and he falls in love with him and is like oh noooo. and then grace is like i'm coming back to erid with you! and rocky is so so happy but also later, once grace is asleep and he's thinking about it some more he's like oh noooooooooooo

the never made 2008 kavalier & clay movie really is my pop culture white whale and the proposed cast gets more insane every time i think about it. jamie bell tobey maguire natalie portman andrew garfield ben whishaw ryan gosling. it haunts me.

andrew garfield as prior walter was one of those really crazy casting moments that you thought could only happen on a really specific type of annoying gay person's tumblr or pinterest board. the only other example i could give of this happening is also andrew garfield when he was supposed to be cast in the scrapped luca guadagnino brideshead mini series or the scrapped kavalier and clay movie starring ben whishaw and again. andrew garfield. or when andrew garfield was supposed to be the creature in GDT's frankenstein.
