answering some common questions about sun worship
why does the sun need me to worship it?
the sun doesn't *need* anything. from you, or anyone. the sun burns on. the sun placidly accepts your worship, the sun graciously tolerates your condemnation, the sun shines.
in that case, why should i worship it?
because the sun gets results. the sun speaks infrequently but keeps its word.
why do bad things happen to good people, and vice versa?
the sun does not care.
what happens when we die?
the sun burns. the sun provides warmth and light.
ok, what happens *to us* when we die?
the flesh desiccates, the sun bleaches your bones.
i mean like what happens to our souls and stuff?
i don't understand. that doesn't seem like it has anything to do with the sun at all. put it from your mind.
what has the sun ever done for me?
everything. the sun is the prime mover. everything that has ever happened has happened using energy from the sun.
what if i harbor doubts, or loyalties to other lesser divinities? can i still worship the sun then?
you can worship as much as you want. i cannot stress enough that you offer the sun nothing that it needs, nothing it could even perceive. thanklessly, the sun shines over the unplumbed depths of the oceans, hiding their mysteries far from its gaze. the sun is unperturbed. in a mere few billion years, it will have a closer look.
the sun shines over the baking hot desert
the sun shines over great canopies of leaves
the sun shines over the lowliest house in the slums.
the sun will go right on shining, for so long you may as well call it forever. warming and lighting all, demanding nothing.
So is it so much to ask that you say thank you?
