the way people tend to flatten artemy's character in the fandom is so annoying to me, like. yes obviously he has a kind heart and he cares about the children and his people, but he's also just as much of a sarcastic asshole as daniil, oftentimes even to the children & to his people; he's not above being petty, impatient or unfair. he also LITERALLY STARTS THE GAME BY KILLING THREE PEOPLE. and i'm not saying his actions weren't justified or that he likes needlessly spilling blood, but he is absolutely ready to do it if he has to, and it's literally how we are introduced to his character. and that's exactly what makes him interesting, the fact that he holds all this warmth and violence within himself at the same time. his whole theme is about being a chimera (just like the town), a man of opposites–butcher and healer, tearing and mending, dutiful and avoidant, estranged and at home. he also says about himself in one of the pantomimes that he thinks he doesn't even know how to love, like...that's such a compelling and important part of his personality that i basically never see explored in fandom. especially because the developers themselves say "the haruspex, a butcher, a killer, [...] gets the warmest character arc. it’s about love." his narrative is about having to learn how to love, when what comes easiest to him is closing off that aching heart of his. but he's so often just mischaracterized as this soft cuddly himbo, the good simple guy, the gentle giant with a heart of gold, all these tired stereotypes that a game like pathologic would so obviously never incorporate and it's so booriiiing

sarima and elphaba are actually really cute together and i think the whole dynamic of elphaba wanting her forgiveness and sarima being unwilling to give it is super compelling, but it's also really wholesome how close they become and how much love elphaba has for her family (ignore the fact she killed manek with an icicle) and how kiamo ko is the first place that elphaba truly feels at home at and-- *notices glinda shaking in the corner* sorry i have to go
