Funny how things pop up on your feed on other platforms. I saw a reel that said “Homesick for a place that doesn’t exist anymore.” It had a little old grandma waving and I just cried at the timing it came. I don’t think it was a coincidence either.

5 years ago today since my sister showed up at the door to give me the news that my favorite person in the world passed.

My grandma was the sassiest of the sassy cats and where I get my stubbornness from. My mom never used the phrase, “You’re stubborn like a mule.” It was more like, “You’re stubborn like your grandmother.” (She’s also the reason why I always would order the cheapest thing on the menu when I used to go on dates.) We have so many videos together but this is one of my favorites. I just love the part where she’s about to say “No because it’s ch” (we all know she caught herself about to say cheaper) but quickly deflects by saying “I like chicken better than I do fish…”
