Hi guys, it's been a while. I apologize for my absence my life has been rough a little lately, but there's a reason for this post. About a month ago, my grandpa passed away. It's been really hard on my family, including myself, my grandfather was my father figure because my real father worked everyday. So my grandfather raised me for 7 years of my life and even then he's been there ever since. I was his little shadow since I was born. He passed away from Brain Cancer in the end of July/Beginning of September, it was his second round and he passed at home, surrounded by my Mom, my Aunt Tam, My Uncle Bill, My Aunt Shelly and her daughters. I went home with my dad and siblings, and I didn't know he was going to pass that night. I wasn't there that night, I wish I was, I regret not being there day in and day out, since he has died. Sometimes I hate myself and feel like I don't deserve to be called his granddaughter. Anytime anyone brings something up about my grandfather, I break down and I feel like the shittiest person on the face of the planet. I feel like I should of been there for someone in their final hour who has been there for me every step of the way. And that's why I need a question answered. Should I consult a therapist for these feelings that I have? I just have so much regret and I can't take it anymore.
