Greetings all 3 of my regular fans!!! We have something newā¦and aā¦wait..a near review? Not just a photodump? YUP!! So here we goā¦letās see if I can still do thisā¦Letās talk Overwatchā¦
We are talking Overwatch Ultimates by Hasbro here folks and I got my hands on the two packs! So We have Mercy and Pharrah in one pack and Ana (in her Shrike skin) and Soldier 76 in the otherā¦
Looking at Mercyā¦holy hell I love the paint. This figure outshines every Legend female figure made to date. Every one. Even if not a fan this is a beautiful figure. I mean there is no detail spared..from the uniform, the highlightsā¦and I love the translucent edges on the wings. Even with the high heels, she stands pretty well. She has a neat effect for her healing ray as well, but holds her staff rather loosely. She holds her pistol form though. I love she has a diaphram swivel as well as ab crunch, totally blowing Legends awayā¦still single jointed elbowsā¦
She comes packaged with Pharrahā¦and again no paint skimped. Also she has effect rocket booster parts. This is painted to the 9s from the gun, the armor, hell her face tattoo is there (you really have to look for it, but damn itās there). What is cool is how the rocket effect parts attach to her wings. Also no pain was skimped on the gun as well. Again single jointed elbows, even with the added bulkā¦the arm swivel is a bit loose on mine as well and finally the gun holds just ok. She also has fist alt hands. Her legs also remind me of the Sp//dr BAF as well, in a good way.
Since both have wings, there is also a packaged flight stand as well! I like this because with their wings they are a bit back heavy. I kind of wish there were two stands. Still this is a SOLID two pack.
Our next two packā¦wellā¦letās get to it..
So the other two pack has Soldier 76, the run and gunner. Once again, I love the sculpt and paint. The details are immaculate. The gun is painted, nothing is skimped on. Since he is a guy, Hasbro lets him have double jointed elbows. He actually reminded me of the Red Hood figure from the Arkham line I may have reviewed at one timeā¦yup, I did.Ā He even comes with an effect part for his missile attack. That is awesome. What isnāt? The gun is a major chore to get in his hands, and while he has all the great articulation, he canāt hold the gun in two hands. I had to take the hand off, pry it in there and just fight with itā¦then it popped out againā¦round 2ā¦and wellā¦I aināt touchinā it again! Oh and yeah, he comes with alternative fist handsā¦
Finally we have Ana in her Shrike skin. I actually have her using this skin when I do play the game. Visually again, looks great. Love that the hood is a separate piece so you can turn her head and it isnāt stuck in there. Also painted to the nines like the restā¦after thatā¦ummmā¦yeahā¦.where to startā¦ok she can hold her pistol, but her rifle? I am still trying to figure it out. You get an effect piece for the rifle, but since she canāt hold it, canāt really display it. Her slender arms are spindly, and while she has most of the joints, you really canāt put her into any sniping poses. Of all 4 she is by far the weakest when it comes to playability.
So in the end, if you are looking for display figures, these are great. Where they are strong, they all go the extra mile, especially in the painted details. I havenāt seen a hasbro figure like thisā¦wellā¦ever, especially for a $20 price point. The thing is as they are strong, they have their weak pointsā¦.I mean this is a shooter game they are based on, and being weak in holding the weapons is a major downer. I am not sure I am totally in on the line to be honest. If you see these packs and are on the fence, get the Mercy Pharrah two pack for sure. Come back for Soldier if you are in love with the idea. At the same time, these are a great budget alternative to Figmas. I didnāt do the height comparisons in the photo shootā¦but if you have some patience, check outĀ this video.Ā The guy may be on the chubby sideā¦but he does all the comparisons you need. I canāt give these all solid ratings to be honest, but hopefully this gives you a good overview of Overwatch Ultimates. Oh and if you want me to get back to reviews, just let me know!
