While I personally strive to only eat organic foods, which can get tiresome and at times limiting (especially when eating out), there are some fruits and vegetables that you can feel reasonably confident about eating that are not organic. Like the dirty dozen list, the EWG publishes another list, the clean fifteen. This list contains the fruits and veggies that contain little to no pesticides. This list is compiled with information provided by the FDA and USDA. Samples of different fruits and veggies grown domestically and abroad are taken and then washed, peeled or scrubbed before testing each item. It is important to note that the FDA and USDA test for a wide range of pesticides but unfortunately they do not test for glyphosate and do not inform whether or not the samples are GMO or not. Hereβs the list of the Clean Fifteen: 1. Avocados π₯ 2. Sweet corn*π½ 3. Pineapple π 4. Onions π§ 5. Papaya* 6. Sweat peas (Frozen) 7. Eggplant/Aubergine π 8. Asparagus 9. Cauliflower 10. Cantaloupes π 11. Broccoli π₯¦ 12. Mushrooms π 13. Cabbage π₯¬ 14. Honeydew melon π 15. Kiwi π₯ The previous items on the list can be bought in their conventional form (non-organic). *These fruits and veggies can be GMO or genetically modified, so make sure that you buy the Non-GMO version. ***If you are interested in learning more about glyphosate and GMO food, follow us as we are going to be posting information on them soon.*** π²π½πͺπΈ EspaΓ±ol continΓΊa en comentarios. https://www.instagram.com/p/CB52bmhAfHN/?igshid=4ujes74uswf7
