Too Much Breakfast

Australia got one more chance at a big breakfast at Helga's Pancake House in Cairns, QLD. My companion and I split lychee pancakes, chorizo pancakes, apple pie waffles and blueberry cream pancakes.

Result: Victory!

More Australia breakfast, this time at Grandma's in Townsville, QLD. My companion and I split honey blossom pancakes, peanut butter-jelly pancakes, eggplant and goat cheese blintzes, and a mix shakshuka (half spinich-feta, half beef-tahini) with a challah roll.

Trying for a big Australian breakfest again at Cafe Le Ma in Rockhampton, QLD. I got vanilla pancakes, a salmon benedict, an avocado stack with poached eggs and a ice cream waffle tower.

Continuing the hunt for big foreign breakfast lead me to Never Been in Brisbane, QLD. My companion and I split apricot-date french toast, pecan french toast, Turkish eggs with flat bread, and a Mediterranean breky stack.

New breakfast place nearby! Woke Breakfast & Coffee opened in Coventry, CT and I had to check them out. My companion and I split chilaquiles with poached eggs and rice and beans, breakfast enchiladas with rice and beans, churro crepes, corn beef hash, and blueberry ricotta french toast.

One more Minneapolis breakfast at The Breakfast Club before heading home. My companion and I split a flight of crepes (lemon-blueberry, banana-carmel and apple-walnut), huevos rancheros, a Jamaican benedict (jerk carnitas, salsa and beans on a corn cake), banana foster french toast and blueberries and cream pancakes.

Result: Victory! Round two is mine Minneapolis!

10 years ago (okay, 9 1/2 years) Hell's Kitchen in Minneapolis, MN defeated me. I knew I would never rest until I came back and claimed a victory.

My companions and I got a giant cinnamon-caramel-pecan roll, huevos rancheros, walleye hash with toast, lemon-ricotta hotcakes with blueberries, bison benedict with hashbrowns, and home-made peanut butter pancakes. Oh, and naturly we got an appitizer of sausage bread.

Result: Victory! Take that Hell's Kitchen!

Another breakfast at Country View Resturant in Brooklyn, CT. My companion and I split a loaded baked potato omlette with sourdough toast and homefries, banana bread french toast, apple crisp wafles, and corn beef hash. I also got an oreo-m&m pancake.

Sunday breakfast time at Dom's Broad Street Eatery in Windsor, CT. My companion and I got granola French toast, apple-walnut pancakes, breakfast potato skins, apple fritter French toast, and a Polish benedict with homefries.

Mood lighting breakfast time at The Breakfast Club in London, England. I got apple and cream pancakes and questionably named huevos rancheros that were delicious but were only rancheros in the sense that there were black beans. My companion got eegs benedict. We split chocolate-banana-bacon pancakes.

I may have gone a little overboard at Stack & Still in London. My companion and I split pesto egg pancakes, spiced pear pancakes and coffee-cookie butter pancakes. I also got oreo-banana pancakes and shakshuka pancakes that my companion wanted no part of.

Another English breakfast, this time at Cafe 21 in downtown Colchester. This time I got a proper English Breakfast with scrammbled eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms, bacon, sausage and baked beans. I also added some hashbrowns. My companion got and egg and lox breakfast sanwich. We also split banana-walnut waffles with ice cream and Welsh Rarebit- the king of cheeesy toast.

Overseas breakfast time! The first of several UK breakfasts, this one at Bill's in Colchester. My companion and I got the halloumi, eggs and tomato plate; the squash, eggs and feta plate; the eggs, labneh and pita plate; and a stack of bacon-stuffed pancakes.

I almost didn't post this breakfast at The Hello Kitty Cafe at The MGM in Las Vegas. because it isn't really too much, but it is too cute. My companions and I got doughnuts: Batdz-Maru, Kitty Bow and Kerroppi; cupcakes: Gudetama and Kuromi; a Hello Kitty cookie; and a Chococat brownie.

Result: Victory! If there weren't limited quantities I would have gotten more.

Another fabulous Las Vegas breakfast at the Bacchanal Brunch Buffet at Ceasar's palace. I can't list everything I had, but know that there are 10 different stations and over 250 items. You can see my companions with their very resonable one or two plates, and me with my less resonable 7 plates. There were also follow-up plates.

First of several Las Vegas breakfasts, this one at Hash House a Go-Go in The Linq hotel. My companions and I got a waffle with scrambled eggs and bacon, a pancake with more scrambled eggs and turkey sausage, blueberry-lemon waffles, a bananna-brown sugar pancake, and the massive sage chicken and waffle tower. Oh, and of course we started with a bowl of donut bites and fancy lattes.

Last big breakfast of 2023 at the American & Mexican DIner in Hartford, CT. My companion and I spilt a breakfast quesadilla with homefries, banana split french toast with ice cream, apple pancakes, and a chilaquiles omlette with refried beans.
