It was once said that Peter Parker is a man of many masks. And I’m pretty sure that nothing truer has ever been said before.

Ka-Chik!

Peter carefully lowered his camera, his eyes locked on something moving. He glanced down at the screen of his camera and analysed it before lifting it back up, aligning the viewfinder to his eye before snapping another shot.

Ka-Chik!

It had been a while since this habit of his started. A few months? Numerous weeks? He wasn’t that sure, all he knew was that it started and he couldn’t find it in him to stop.

He carefully lowered his camera and began walking, slower than his usual pace, as if delaying himself. He couldn’t let her find him. He overheard that she’s already noticed the presence of something she can’t find, watching her.

Yes, some may call him out and say that this is stalking- but he think he’s an observer. Like a birdwatcher.

In a sense, he thinks it’s true. After all, he hasn’t approached her nor interacted with her at all. He only followed her around and took pictures of her. That’s all!

Ka-sshik!

Crap. Flash.

Peter ducks behind a dumpster, hiding. His heart pounding against his chest as he begs every single divine being to not let her notice. To not let her walk over and realise his loser of a classmate was the one stalking her. He pursed his lips, even more still than ever.

After waiting a few minutes, he finally peeked over and saw her still walking, as if she hadn’t heard anything nor noticed the flash. He sighs in relief then, finally, he puts his camera back into his backpack. He puts his skateboard down on the pavement and he starts making his way home.

Despite the event being over for more than 15 minutes, Peter can feel the anxiety in his chest lingering, as if taunting him for his misdeeds.

Thankfully, every turn he made with his skateboard made him feel better. By the time he got home, he was finally calm and back to his usual self- the normal one.

He easily printed his pictures and had the best one pinned beside his monitor. The best one was easily the picture with the girl’s close up shot, as she smiled at something her friend said. How he didn’t get caught? Peter’s not quite sure himself.

But what he’s sure of is when he started obsessing over her. It was that one time Flash cut his shoelaces up and he had planned to walk home with only just his socks on.

Much to his surprise, she walked up to him and gave him a roll of lace- not the shoelace type, but the one grandmothers use as table cloths and accents in girl clothes. At first, he was just grateful that she thought of helping him and didn’t expect anything back. That was it then, just gratitude.

But then, she helped him with Flash. And that was the start of his ever growing feelings.
