good time to rewatch Austin Powers now that it's been 30 years since 1997 and 60 years since 1967
It's really not. I rewatched one of those recently and they do not hold up. There are occasional decent one-off gags like the stuck car (which still get dragged out too long), and some of the Dr. Evil stuff is funny, although genre-aware meta-gags about supervillains are now more common than just supervillains played straight, so even the good Dr. Evil bits have since been done much better by others. And meanwhile everything else about those movies is just painful now.
since the Austin Powers movies came out after the Pierce Brosnan reboot of James Bond it ended up being less about the 1960s and more about nostalgia for the very silly Roger Moore (!) era of movies from the '70s and '80s, which were practically self-parodies and inspired most of the spy movie parodies that came afterwards, while riding the Britpop wave of the '90s (and Tony Blair's New Labour) which was also gesturing at the '60s in a cargo cult kind of way; perhaps this whole thing is just Britain finally accepting its decline as world power and finding ways to commercialise its history instead.
I hate to tell you that Austin Powers is not a British film. It wasn't even the British commercialising it.

People talk about Austin Powers as a "James Bond parody", but Austin himself is clearly meant to be a terrible impression of Micheal Cane (as Harry Palmer) no?
