emotional maturity ain't about never feeling angry, it's about not letting your emotions run the show. some people don't know how to regulate themselves, so they try to regulate everyone around them instead. they'll provoke you, disrespect you, ignore your boundaries, and keep pushing until you finally react, not because they want peace, but because they need proof that you're the problem. then, the second you react, that's all anyone's meant to look at. funny how months of disrespect suddenly disappear, innit? now it's all about your response, not everything that led to it, that's how accountability gets dodged. make the reaction louder than the reason, and no one has to look at who started the fire in the first place. proper convenient, that. if you've got to push someone until they're no longer acting like themselves just to prove a point, you haven't exposed their character, you've exposed your own. people with integrity don't need to manufacture chaos just to feel validated. stop setting fires just so you can complain about the smoke. you don't get to play the victim in a situation you created, simple as.
