Druid (me) and rogue were entering a dungeon occupied by hobgoblins. The hobgoblins were alerted to our presence and were moving towards us, so we attempted to stealth and hide. The rogue was successful. I was not.

Me (OOC): Okay, I stand up from the behind the barrel and say in goblin: “Congratulations! I am very impressed! Your security is top-notch! I’m from union health and safety, I’m here for the inspection. You’ve passed this round, would you mind taking me to the boss now?”

DM: *SIGHS* Not this **** again. Roll deception.

Me: *rolls nat 20*

The hobgoblins fully believed me and led me through the dungeon (with the rogue sneakily following at a distance), carefully pointing out trip wires and other traps along the way and keeping any dangerous creatures at bay. They led us into their king’s chambers and left us alone with him inside.

DM: This dungeon was supposed to take you all night. It took you 20 seconds.
