I hate the way my aunt died. I hate that I couldn’t spend more time with her. It was some kind of rapid-onset dementia which killed her. A slow decline from full consciousness to cloudy stupor to a vegetative state within the span of months.

On the one hand, there is a frequent refusal to put down one's own concepts and try and probe their symbolic world on its own terms. I'm thinking, for example, of those who debate in circles whether or not "gayness" was common in the ancient Hellenic world.

On the other hand, there is also a tendency towards a kind of mysticism, especially where long periods of time and large distances are concerned, which obfuscates certain people as unknowable -- various forms of exoticism, orientalism, etc.

I really should make clear that my feelings on the Solarpunk genre are as close to apathetic as possible. That's precisely why I find the hyperbolic reactions to it amusing.

"Isn'treal" just seems like a joke, and unless you are joking, I think this sort of punning is more distracting than anything. "AmeriKKKa" is also distracting, but it's a bit less overtly ridiculous-sounding.
