I’d be really interested in reading some kind of study or essay on the “Bridezilla” phenomenon as like. Weddings being one of the few things that heterosexual woman are permitted and expected to have absolute control over. Everyone loves a nice wedding but nobody actually has a good time at the kind of event that’s given outsized importance and micromanaged top to bottom, but a wedding functions as the magnum opus demonstrating a woman’s mastery of femininity and a swan song to her maidenhood. Of course lots of women get deeply neurotic about that and want to control every atom of the experience even if it makes everyone they know miserable.
