supernatural seasons by how good the main plot is for me personally
-5: GREAT stuff. big plot is clear (find dad, figure out whatâs wrong with sam, save dean from hell, prevent the apocalypse, stop the apocalypse) and fresh each season with clear stakes and Iâm completely invested! im fond of big stakes done well so I especially love s4 and s5, but its all great. unfortunately itâs generally downhill from here
civil war in heaven is a logical extension of the power vacuum left by s5, even if the stakes being a repeat of the apocalypse they just stopped is frustrating. soulless sam and the alpha monsters plot are interesting and whatever respectively. the man who would be king does a LOT of heavy lifting to retroactively make this season fit together and feel coherent. better on a rewatch because of this
the leviathans are a pretty fun and unique villain but for most of the middle of the season it really becomes a drag. this is also the last time seeing mark pellegrino on my screen wonât make me want to commit homicide
I hate stupid brother fights and thatâs the real main conflict of this (and the next two seasons). closing the gates of hell was a good concept tho.
I hate stupid brother fights I hate the mark of Cain. Angels on earth was kinda cool at first but got old very fast. metatron is pretty original as a villain but enters late with weak motivations and abbadon is an anticlimactic letdown.
I HATE STUPID BROTHER FIGHTS AND I HATE THE MARK OF CAIN!!!!! Relatively coherent and straightforward but absolutely miserable to watch
gets a HUGE boost by coming off of 3 straight seasons of stupid brother conflict, and âgods sisterâ is kinda jumping the shark but it felt relatively fresh and pretty coherent, though the lucifer side plot drags it down a lot.
much as I come to love ketch in later seasons, âBritish peopleâ is a really stupid big bad. Itâs novel at least! The stakes are confusing and hard to stay bought into, and once again Lucifer drags it down. Antichrist baby is fine stuff but overall there are just too many irons in the fire here and itâs hard to emotionally keep track of
lucifer is annoying and I simply do not care about apocalypse world. At no point does the show actually manage to get me bought in on apocalypse world, itâs so whatever to me. Boring boring main plot.
same problem as 13. I donât CARE about apocalypse world and im BORED. whatever. michael is boring his threatened apocalypse is boring his nothing vibes and peaky blinders outfit are cringe. Jackâs first arc losing his powers is really strong but the soulless arc feels frustratingly idiot plot
never before has an ending been fumbled like this ending was fumbled, but the fighting god plot is actually pretty fucking compelling! Itâs genuinely fresh and novel, and the meta elements feel new and fun, especially in the first half of the season. The stakes feel real and im invested! This is helped by the fact that this is the last season, so the stakes wonât be overwritten by future seasons. I think thereâs more they could have done with the premise and the finale admittedly cheapens it all, but they had something really cool here, even if they didnât nail the execution
