Carlo and Philip both having self-control problems, but one keeps trying so hard and eventually seems to succeed in mastering himself while the other just goes "oopsie", regrets everything for two minutes, and proceeds to mess up again over and over while wondering why everyone hates him

Posa gives a really good speech about this at the end of act 1, describing the ways that becoming king will warp anyone's moral judgements because they now believe the world exists to bend to their will. And Carlos' response is "well yes but not me because I'm a virgin #skillissue"
