Reblogging to note something interesting: both of his Best Wishes arcs are essentially equivalent to both parts of his Original Series arc. Future Energy & The Meteonite corresponds to the Kanto part, where after a lot of build-up Giovanni ultimately fails to get his evil scheme through the door (due to Mewtwo rebelling and Team Plasma stealing the Meteonite respectively), while Meloetta & The Reveal Glass corresponds to the Johto part where he makes his comeback as an actual combatant, even more driven and ruthless than before, and finally bringing the storyline from before (seeking to conquer the world through Mewtwo's power and seeking to conquer the Unova region respectively) to a conclusion.

After seeing discussions online about how May is claimed to be 10 years old in the anime, but has the body of a growing teenager, if you catch my drift (mainly in Advanced Generation), I've been wondering if that was an early consequence of the Ashime's refusal to allow Ash Ketchum to physically grow up.

I may have my own criticisms of Pokémon Horizons, but the lack of Ash Ketchum has never been one of them and it never will. Horizons has already proven that it can build its own audience without relying on him or nostalgia.
