Perhaps we just want people to agree with us, rather than wanting to be in the spotlight.

Validation is important to construct our ideals about the world. It is how we learn wrong from right as people around us confirm our beliefs and methodologies.

Is it an attention seeking trait if someone require approval often? In many ways I would like to think someone who reads this blog would concur, connect and/or relate to some of the topics that I have decided to discuss. Would you say one is wanting attention, or yearning for some agreement so that I don't feel so alone in my views of the universe?

AIO or is this lease agreement insane

This is just a regular rental agreement for a year lease on a rental house. I’m refusing to sign because this seems a little off, and this is not for damages caused by the tenant due to neglect. Why would I pay for repairs for a house that I do not own?!

one of the biggest trade-offs to not owning your home is not being responsible for maintaining it—i.e., repairing from normal use/wear/time/etc. if you smash a hole in a wall or something, obvi that would come from a security deposit or even be taken to court if your deposit doesn’t reasonably cover it. but to me this phrasing doesn’t make that distinction. what happens if you need a new water heater? or a pipe bursts? or the roof needs repair??

this is also what homeowners insurance is for… you pay renters insurance and it doesn’t cover this shit for a reason—it just covers your shit. the house isn’t yours and i see that they reminded us of that by sprinkling in that any improvements belong to the landlord, not the tenant. weird to be so precise there but not be precise enough to distinguish between tenant damage and maintenance, eh?
