Indulge in the delightful combination of sweet pears, honey, gooey cheese, and savory caramelized onions in this Manila Spoon-inspired sandwich recipe. Perfect for a quick and satisfying lunch or dinner option.
Ingredients: 2 ripe pears, thinly sliced. 4 tablespoons honey. 8 slices of your favorite cheese such as cheddar or gouda. 2 large onions, thinly sliced. 4 tablespoons olive oil. 8 slices of your favorite bread such as sourdough or whole wheat.
Instructions: Put 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a pan and heat it over medium-low heat. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring every now and then, for about 15 to 20 minutes, until the onions turn caramelized. In the meantime, heat up a grill pan or panini press over medium heat. Put cheese, sliced pears, and caramelized onions on 4 slices of bread to make the sandwiches. Add one tablespoon of honey to each sandwich and then add the last few slices of bread on top. Use the rest of the olive oil to brush the outsides of the sandwiches. It will take about 3 to 5 minutes per side for the bread to turn golden brown and the cheese to melt on the panini press or grill pan. Enjoy while hot!
