Just a sprite nothing more
So after watching into the spiderverse for the bajillionth time. I decided I wanted to re-imagine Eddy Brock and Venom, his appearance I actually kinda got from a friend of mine. Anyway Iām mostly re-imagined the origin story of Eddy Brock mostly, what if Peter and Eddy werenāt bitter rivals or have some avid hatred for each other. Instead were pretty cool friends in and out of work. Though spidermanās involvement would lead to Brockās job lose and the splitting of him and his fiance, eventually finding venom.Ā Devastated after bonding with the symbiote is itās his friend who had wronged him. His vengeance is well more deserved and tragic.Ā Ā
whereās that post where someone erased all the extra lines and crosshatched shading from a jojo characterās face
cursed image
Oh my god itās an actual 17 year old heās been under there the whole time
He just contours.
WHY IS DRAWING HANDS SO FUCKING HARD
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
you just gotta figure out how to do the mitten thing! (everybody does it differently, so whatever works for you)
make a little mitten shape, a bump for the big thumb muscle, a line for where you want to knuckles to be (and where the fingers end), and you can work out how the hand does hand things~
you can make them more simple or more real, however you want! hands are weird, so donāt worry if they keep looking wrong for a while, once you figure out what works for you, itāll click. If you practice like 10 or-so basic hand shapes, you can make slight variations on all those, and 10 turns into 20 different hand poses~
Good luck, you can do it, practice until you find your groove, hands are stupid, donāt worry if they donāt look right!
you are a fucking saint x2

MARCH
ITāS BACK IN MARCH
ITāS GETTING STRONGER
I brought it back in March
aaron davis is alive and prowler becomes a superhero alongside his nephew spiderman
Iāve been laughing at this for 6 months
The best bit is like you can see half the mentoes donāt even go in who knows whatād have happened if they had.
For 9/10ths of the balance arc Iāve made the mistake of not taking Merle Highchurch very seriously.
Iām not sure exactly why honestly? Taako and Magnus both clearly have a lot of style on the surface and a lot of feelings just underneath, whereas Merle is pretty easy going and doesnāt seem to really have many secrets or need for serious therapy. Heās a nice guy but his slightly goofy nature didnāt have me clutching my heart.
And then came āAm I your friend.ā And right now heās trying to get Lup to dance in the kitchen and I had to just. take a second because now every goofy thing he does makes me clutch my heart because that good nature goes ALL THE WAY DOWN, itās sincere and mindfully chosen and he knows exactly how serious everything is and he chooses to spread love and happiness anyway and
I LOVE Merle
SO MUCH

it really is next to impossible to write realistic sibling dialogue, I just passed my brother on the stairs and instead of greeting each other like human beings I said āborn survivorā and he said āyoutube rewind. letās set it to rewind.ā like you aināt gonna find that shit in a novel
aw man writing siblings is so wild because sometimes you just canāt portray it
me and my little brother donāt even greet each other - if we pass each other on the stairs or in the corridor, we jump into ridiculous fight stances then feign karate chopping and slapping each other (stopping just before we make contact) whilst makingĀ āHIIIYAā and āPOWā noises for a solid 30 seconds, then silently walk off and continue what we were doing
and then sometimes heāll either just do the Had To Do It ToĀ āEm pose when I enter the room or dab as a greeting
exactly! I have three younger brothers and the original post was just about the oldest, the middle one and me usually do some kind of elaborate dab also, and a lot of the time when I see the youngest I just yell his name like a wrestling commentatorā¦siblings have a different language
my twin brother and I just point at each other like that spider-man meme if we see each other at school
every time we see each other my brother and i raise our elbows and start walking at each other/ standing completely still
its exactly like this
look. look at this beautiful sword meme. iām going to cry
@petermorwood
I saw and reblogged this one a while back, but itās always worth repeating, and this time Iām adding a bit of background info comparing common fantasy sword features to the Real Thing (with pictures, of course.)
Leaf-bladed swords are a very popular fantasy style and were real, though unlike modern hand-and-a-half longsword versions, the real things were mostly if not always shortswords.
Here are Celtic bronze swordsā¦
ā¦Ancient Greek Xiphoiā¦
⦠and a Roman āMainz-patternā gladiusā¦
Saw or downright jagged edges, either full-length or as small sections (often where they serve no discernible purpose) are a frequent part of fantasy blades, especially at the more, er, imaginatively unrestrained end of the market.
Real swords also had saw edges, such as these two 19th century shortswords, but not to make them cool or interesting. Theyāre weapons if necessaryā¦
ā¦but since they were carried by Pioneer Corps who needed them for cutting branches and other construction-type tasks, their principal use was as brush cutters and saws.
This dussack (cutlass) in the Wallace Collection is also a fighting weapon, like the one beside itā¦
ā¦but may also have had the secondary function of being a saw.
A couple of internet captions say itās for ācutting ropesā which makes sense - heavy ropes and hawsers on board a ship were so soaked with tar that they were often more like lengths of wood, and a Hollywood-style slice from the Heroās rapier (!!) wouldnāt be anything like enough to sever them. However swords like this are extremely rare, which suggests they didnāt work as well as intended for any purpose.
I photographed these in Basel, Switzerland, about 20 years ago. Look at the one on the bottom (I prefer the basket-hilt schiavona in the middle).
A lot of āflambergeā (wavy-edge) swords actually started out with conventional blades which then had the edges ground to shape - the dussack, that Basel broadsword and this Zweihander were all made that way.
The giveaway is the centreline: if itās straight, the entire blade probably started out straight.
Increased use of water power for bellows, hammers and of course grinders made shaping blades easier than when it had to be done by hand. This flamberge Zweihander, however, was forged that way.
Again, the clue is the centre-line.
Incidentally those Parierhaken (parrying hooks - a secondary crossguard) are among the only real-life examples of another common fantasy feature - hooks and spikes sticking out from the blade.
Here are some rapiers and a couple of daggers showing the same difference between forged to shape and ground to shape. The top and bottom rapiers in the first picture started as straights, and only the middle rapier came from the forge with a flamberge blade.
Thereās no doubt about this one either.
The reason - though that was a part of it - wasnāt just to look cool and show off what the owner could afford (any and all extra or unusual work added to the price) but may actually have had a function: a parry would have been juddery and unsettling for someone not used to it, and any advantage is worth having.
However, like the saw-edged dussack, flamberge blades are unusual - which suggests the advantage wasnāt that much of an advantage after all.
Hereās a Circassian kindjal, forged wigglyā¦
ā¦and an Italian parrying dagger forged straight then ground wigglyā¦
There were also parrying daggers with another fantasy-blade feature, deep notches and serrations which in fantasy versions often resemble fangs or thorns.
These more practical historical versions are usually called āsword-breakersā but I prefer āsword-catcherā, since a steel blade isnāt that easy to break. Taking the opponentās blade out of play for just long enough to nail him works fine.
NB - the curvature on the top one in this next image is AFAIK because of the book-page it was copied from, not the blade itself.
The missing tooth on that second dagger, and the crack halfway down this next oneās blade, shows what happens when design features cause weak spots.
So there you go: a quick overview of fantasy sword features in real life.
Hereās a real-life weapon that looks like it belongs in a fantasy story or film - and this doesnāt even have an odd-shaped bladeā¦
Just a very flexible oneā¦
If you want more odd blades, Moghul India is a good place to startā¦
@yourlocalfrenchie youād like this
It's really not that hard to tell actors from their characters
Like, this is Loki
And this is Tom. They have different colored hair.
This is Castiel
And this is Misha. They wear different clothes.
This is Tony Stark
And this is Robert Downey Jr. They have different names.
Simple
Actually, donāt forget that Tony Stark is about half a foot taller. RDJ is a tiny tiny man and itās hilarious.
This is Tony Stark

never clicked the reblog button as fast as this.
Probably already reblogged this, but itās so dam funny.
This is so true its hilarious

I adore RDJ but I do wonder if all the rest of the tall guys are standing in a trench when theyāre on set with him to balance out their heights!!!!
Rdj wears platform high heels

When my sister and I were kids we had this one action figure, who was actually a brutalized batman doll without his cape (the dog chewed half his head, too), who we dubbedĀ āEvil Chancellor Traytorā. The idea was that in the fictional society of our toys,Ā āchancellorā just came with the wordĀ āevilā in front of it, as a matter of ancient tradition. LikeĀ āgrandā orĀ āhighā or something along those lines.
Anyway, the running gag was that the king (an old Power Rangers knock-off doll) had absolute and unwavering faith in Evil Chancellor Traytor, who basically comported himself like a mix between Grima Wormtongue and Jafar from the Aladdin movies. Everyone was always sure that Evil Chancellor Traytor had something to do with the nefarious scheme of the day. The dude even carried around a poisoned knife calledĀ āthe kingslayerā.
The additional twist on the joke, though, was that he never wasĀ behind anything. The king was actually right. Evil Chancellor Traytor was the most devoted civil servant in the entire Action Figure Dystopia. He spent his nights working on writing up new legislature to ensure that broken toys had access to mobility devices, was always on the lookout to acquire new shoeboxes for expanding city infrastructure, and drafted a proposal that once got half theĀ āsettlementā in my sister and Iās closet moved to the upper shelf so that vulnerable toys were less likely to be snatched up by the dog.
The knife, as it turned out, was as symbolic as theĀ āevilā in his name. See, Action Figure Dystopia had a long history of corrupted monarchs getting too big for their thrones and exploiting the underclasses. The job of the Evil Chancellor was to always remain vigilant, and loyally serve a good ruler - or, if the regent should became a despot, to slay them on behalf of the people.
But since killing the king would be a terrible crime, the Evil Chancellor had to be the kind of person who would willingly die to spare the people from the plight of a wicked leader; because the murder would be pinned on them, in order to keep theĀ āmachinery of politicsā working as smoothly as ever.
Anyway, Evil Chancellor Traytor had a diary, in which my sister I would take turns writing out the most over-the-top good shit heād done behind the scenes. Usually after everyone else had finished talking shit about him. I donāt know why but we got the biggest kick out of being like:
Barbie With the Unfortunate Haircut: Oh that Evil Chancellor Traytor! Why canāt the king see how wicked he is?!
Charmander From the Vending Machine: Char!
Jurassic Park Toy of Jeff Goldblum With Disturbingly Realistic Face: At least if someone puts a knife in the kingās back, weāllĀ know where to look!
Evil Chancellor Traytorās Diary: Today I was feeding ducks at the park when I noticed another legless action figure sitting by the benches. I put a hundred dollars into his bag while he wasnāt looking. I really need to increase budgeting to the medical treatment centers. If only we had enough glue, I think we would see far fewer toys trying to get by without limbs⦠*insert iconic evil laugh*
Anyway, Evil Chancellor Traytor eventually fell victim to one of my momās cleaning sprees, and she decided he was too busted up to keep and tossed him out. My littler brother, who tended to follow my sister and Iās games like he was watching a daily soap opera, cried so hard that we had to do a specialĀ āepisodeā where one of the toys found the Evil Chancellorās diary, and so he got a big huge memorial and the king threw himself into the empty grave and then ordered the toys driving the toy bulldozer to bury him so thatĀ āTraytorās grave would have a bodyā (this seemed very important for some reason).
And then we had the Quest For a New King. Somehow or another that ended up being a giant rubber snake calledĀ āTyrant King Cobraā.
