Idk who needs to hear this but not all White people are citizens in the US.
My White immigrant ass is over here making xenophobes and racists afraid again.

Idk who needs to hear this but there are a lot of disabled kids being raised by ableist parents. That’s why we shit on “Autism Moms”.
THE CHAFF PROJECT
Hi! Are you cis in the UK and you'd like to support trans rights? Great!
How: buy a trans flag pin and wear it in public.
Why: chaff is an overwhelming amount of false positives so that when a missile gets close to the plane, it hits the chaff and not the plane.
In practice: the goal is to make it DIFFICULT to identify trans people to target with bathroom bans, and to create many FALSE POSITIVES for businesses.
Basically, you might get accused of being trans and kicked out, because of the badge. You say: I wear the badge because trans rights matter.
You follow up with a letter to the business saying you're fucking furious because some nosy dipshit just tried to play fucking genital police with you in the loos. You know lots of trans people (don't name any, if you do) and you wear the pin in support and you're disgusted at them for allowing this.
Blame the business for allowing the behaviour.
Businesses see that their cis customers are getting bothered over a badge and may clarify trans-inclusive policies, so they can kick out the bathroom botherers instead of nice cis allies.
You only need to buy and wear the badge, and you are protecting trans people. You can be genuinely heroic. Even one cis person doing this helps, and everyone you get to join in helps even more.

Asexuals were always part of pride and it really fucking shows when people think it's a recent term.
Although not going by the term "asexual" yet, asexuality was spoken about alongside homosexuality as far back as the 1890s. Asexual history is just as vital to queer history as any other term and I'm so tired of watching us being treated like a new thing
This image is so so fucking important to me

*me reporting all ads as malicious because all advertising is inherently malicious*
legend tells of a mysterious being called “nuance” that allows multiple things to be true at the same time. some say you can still hear its voice whispering in the trees
Hi all! I found this really cool nail kit at an antique store and I’m wondering if anyone knows anything about it! I’m absolutely gonna clean the tools and use them!
Follow up: if anyone has good tips for cleaning and restoring this kit let me know! I’m thinking of a paste of baking soda situation for the rust stains but I could be way off. Also not 100% on the tools. I much prefer going to people before bots so hmu if you have tips! (Or if you heard my plan and went NONONONO 😂)
I really do think the current rise of global fascism is going to be especially bad for the massive and rapidly growing population of disabled people.
Already-inadequate social safety nets are already being dismantled and I think the cultural environment is going to become more and more brutal to disabled people.
We've seen some of this already obviously. The socially-acceptable, earnest explanations that the r slur is okay now because everyone's saying it, the refusal to do literally anything to protect disabled people from covid, the austerity so many governments are enforcing on the most vulnerable members of their populations.
Politics and culture are in lockstep on the insistence that disabled people are expendable. I think this has already changed the social landscape dramatically and it's only accelerating.
As the number of people too disabled to work surges from the longer-term effects of an unusually disabling virus, as work becomes increasingly brutal and underpaid (your actual income number MAY be the same, but you can't buy as much food or housing with it, and new hires are being paid even less), as social services continue to be gutted, people who care for disabled people are going to increasingly see us as burdens and see our survival as incompatible with their own.
If you aren't yet disabled, PLEASE stand up for us and find ways to organize additional support instead of just dumping your disabled loved ones on the street to die.
"I'd never do that!" Good!! Hold on to that!!Bc the Overton window will shift your opinions and politics if you let it.
So many people who were righteously angry five years ago about governments suggesting killing disabled people was an acceptable price to keep the economy running, are now repeating those same conservative party lines almost word for word and thinking it's different because they're used to it now.
It's going to become increasingly common to abandon disabled people. It's going to be described as setting boundaries and protecting your peace and prioritizing reciprocity.
But if those are your real priorities, organizing additional support is a dramatically better option than removing every source of support a disabled person has all at once and comforting yourself with the thought that finding new help all at once is the responsibility of the newly homeless person who is seriously disabled.
It's going to become increasingly common to abandon disabled people. It's going to be described as setting boundaries and protecting your peace and prioritizing reciprocity.
Exactly what is already happening to me, in leftist spaces too.
Help organise more support. Small things, and trust that you don't need to do it all. Others are doing the same.

i used to have a job but now I'm pushing 30 and back to depending on my parents after my contract ended and my bipolar got worse......it's such a triggering enviornment too ugh. trying to keep my head up though ig. getting kinda jealous of my friends who are advancing in their lives too !!!
I'm also pushing 30 and I never got a job or an education, and yet my life has been moving somewhere worth going in the last couple years. Living up to society's demands and expectations for a normal life definitely isn't the only way to create a life worth living, and many, many people have periods where they have to step back for a while without this meaning that their life is over for good.
I’ve just turned 30 and I was in the unfortunate situation of medical neglect by my parents who did love me very much but just didn’t know how to deal with my disabilities. I was diagnosed with Autism and ADHD at 27 and Bipolar at 29. I JUST got on mood stabilizers for the first time and I’ve been cycling since middle school.
There have been so many times in my life where I’ve had a complete breakdown and ended up in the hospital or in a PHP without a job relying on money from my parents and whatever my wife could make at work.
But right now I’m a practicum semester away from my master’s and I’ve been at the same job for four years. Things can turn around both ways. Life is all cycles. If you’re in winter, be in winter. Rest, recover, do nothing else. Your spring and your summer will come again.
Advice on Endings
I hate ending my stories. I will drag a story on long after it should have ended even though I know it should be done with. If anyone else struggles as well, here is a list of the different types of endings that are common.
Full Circle – Mirror the beginning of the story, show how the tone has shifted from start to end
Bittersweet – Character wins at the cost of something else, creates emotional depth
Emotional resolution – Focuses more on the growth of the characters than the events of the story
Twist – reveal something that changes the readers perspective or understanding
Open – doesn’t answer all the questions or solve all the conflicts of the story, leaving room for interpretation
Quiet – Subtle, reflective ending rather than a dramatic event
Sacrifice – The character has to give something up to achieve a greater goal
Hopeful – Despite the events of the story, there is a distinct sense that everything will be okay
Consequence – Shows how the characters choices throughout the story impact the world or their relationship
Character choice – centers on a decision that defines who the character has become through the story
