evening gloves of different lengths, france c. 1900-09.
Having worn gloves like these, a few things to consider:
Look carefully at the first (shortest) pair on the left. The lines on the back are only on the back of the HAND, which means that this pair only reaches just past the wrist.
2. The thumbs are folded back, which makes the glove look longer and narrower than it actually is.
3. These gloves are made of very thin kid (goatskin) leather, which is slightly stretchy. Think about the way a knit sweater stretches. If you stretch it in one direction, it gets shorter in the other direction.
4. Having worn these types of gloves, I can confirm: as you stretch a new pair of kid leather gloves to fit over your hand and arm (a tight, close fit was fashionable AND gives you more finger dexterity), they WILL get shorter in proportion to width!
5. During this period, there was a fad for long gloves worn scrunched up on the arm, so if you wanted that effect, you'd need extra length to accommodate for the scrunch!
In conclusion: the longest pair of gloves (which DO look ridiculous in the picture!) would only reach up to armpit level on a normal human arm, haha.
it gets to a point that is just weirder if they didn't fuck
you did all this and it was not even because you wanted to bang him? weirdo

there are some people on here who, when they followed me back, I got excited about as if they were a celebrity. and when I think about it, it's kinda sweet how we do that here, and so much more special than celebrity crushes. To be starstruck by someone when they're sharing their personal, more private self. You're famous to me for just being you.
