“Ugh can’t stand babies they cry so much!”
That tiny Human spirit has shat himself 4 times today if you’d shat yourself 4 times by noon you’d be in hysterics too
He fell asleep in his bed, at home, and woke up at the goddamn grocery store with an overhead light in his face if that happened to you you’d become The Joker
Poor guy’s only been here for like a dozen weeks he doesn’t even have a favorite show to distract him yet he’s just raw-dogging reality unfiltered with no goddamn Blorbos to rotate whatsoever
Baby's first rotating blorbos
Y’all are great I love y’all
Everyone say “thank you crying baby”

And you know what? Even if the guy with all the money should change his heart *right this minute* and donate billions to a cause as good as world hunger:
...Nonetheless, whether he does or not... he will still die, like all the rest of us, regardless of who may be at his bedside, alone in his head: alone. By himself. No one there to mitigate the pain, to be telling him how important he is, to make what's happening okay in any way whatsoever. He will cross the bar alone. And there is nothing he can do to stop it.
Nothing he can do with the science we have in this day and age will change that. Nothing invented in the next twenty, thirty, *fifty* years, will change that.
Is he a schmuck? Yes. Is he vastly wealthy and powerful (in the in-this-life mode) beyond the dreams of almost all of us? Yeah, sure!
Will it avail him at the moment when, eventually, beyond any ability of his or those he's paid to keep it running, his breath stops? NOPE.
...The comfort associated with this may be a bit on the chilly side. But (leaving aside folks' personal beliefs about what happens on the far side of the Last Breath) all his personal bullshit in the physical world will swiftly come to nothing.
Let's wait our time. I may not see it: but some of you will, and will be able to say, "Well THAT's over, finally."
(sigh)
Okay, that's my annoyance for the day. ...And now who wants some tea?
Bitch the pot, girl. We deserve it.
The entire Europe conspired and cooperated to colonize North America.
Say this to Norwegians and Swedes, they'd get mad and act as if they have nothing to do with it
This belief is tied to the misconception that colonization was undertaken by states, and thus that only countries whose states had colonies were involved. The importance of companies and venture capital in colonization is vastly unknown and frequently underestimated. When you look into it, you'll see that even some European countries without colonies had colonial companies. And even when that wasn't the case, the states themselves or large part of their capitalist class could own stakes in foreign colonial companies.
And even more indirectly, they could have stakes in trades that were fed by colonialism, like industry developing thanks to cheaper material from the colonies, which fueled the industrial revolution
This belief also limits the slave trade to the actual act of kidnapping humans and shipping them across the globe. But none of that was possible without the industry that supported it.
In 'humans kidnapped and shipped' figures, Sweden was a small fish in the slave trade, but Sweden was the main supplier of iron chains used in the slave trade. The Swedish iron industry thrived and brought wealth to Sweden because stolen children were cuffed in child-sized Swedish chains.

Hey you can’t really like. Do anything about somebody perceiving your behavior as rude. Like they’re not telling you you’re doing something illegal they’re just saying hey you’re kinda being a shithead. It’s not discrimination or oppression for somebody to tell you you’re acting like a shithead rn.
“Wahhh why can’t I blare my TikToks in a shared public space!”
You CAN dude. In fact you ARE. You’re just going to be perceived as kinda shitty for it.
I’m pretty sure this is also the same kind of person who is physically compelled to get on someone else’s post and explain why THEY PERSONALLY have the One Correct Reason to not listen to rap or eat at Chik-fil-A or use ChatGPT or or or or. They obsessively crave universal validation so they don’t have to confront the fact that their actions have consequences and also say things about their character.
There is a really huge gap between "illegal" and "socially unacceptable". It's actually a mark of a free society that people can legally do things that don't cause significant harm to others, even though most people hate those things. Examples include cheating on your spouse and playing TikTok videos loudly in public spaces.

Sin.ce mama. lost her. whole penis. she has . Been so sleepy. So it i.s. My duty. as a tiny knight. to snuggle on h.er. and gurgle. as much as possible.
Younger people, one thing I want you to understand about Millenials is that, overall, our parents taught their daughters to aim for careers and employment, but they didn't teach their sons to keep house. This causes a whole lot of Situations.
My brothers are my half-brothers; they spent summers and some holidays with us. I love my brothers.
Their mother picked up after them. They were not required to take plates the kitchen or do the dishes or anything like that.
My mother, who would tell you she is for equality, came home one day, sighed at the mess of dirty dishes scattered about, and said, "Gayle, help me pick up."
"Those aren't my dishes," I said. "I picked up my dishes."
My mother sighed again. "Just help me pick up."
"No," I said again. "I didn't make that fucking mess."
She never approached my brothers and said, "Boys, in this house, you take your dishes to the kitchen." She did not tell our dad, "Hey, tell the boys they need to pick up after themselves."
It was, "Gayle, pick up the dishes."
And when I refused because it was not my fucking mess, I got lectured about being difficult.
See also: My brothers--in a classic dick-move of all siblings--figured out they could pop the lock on the bathroom door and throw it open, and I would freak out because I was in the shower and trying to get five fucking minutes of peace.
Guess who got yelled at for being "unreasonable"? Not the boys. Because a lot of moms of millennial boys still said shit like "boys will be boys" when they should have said "Boys, if you got body-slammed on the concrete, I'm not taking you to the hospital."
It was similar for Xers. I spent a lot of time in my 20's teaching romantic partners and friends basic household skills and having to be really hard ass about them carrying their weight.
It is stupid and infuriating and I hate that the "Boy Mom" trend is setting yet another generation up for unfairness and domestic strife.
Yep.
One time when I was in high school, my mum came home w/ groceries. She needed help bringing all of them in. Did she ask my brother who was already outside playing basketball? No. Did she ask her husband who was sitting on his ass watching TV in the living room? Nope. She walked past both of them, through the house, and into my room where I was doing homework and yelled at me for not immediately coming out to help her.
I have been told that I am "the last of the millennials" or that I'm a "gen zer" or that I'm "on the cusp" by so many different people that I am 100% convinced this is not a generational problem. It is a societal problem. And millennial parents are not immune to raising their kids this way just bc they're younger than x'ers and boomers. Same goes for gen z'ers and every generation after us so long as misogyny remains the bedrock of society that it is.
My parents did a lot to teach my brothers to keep house but the one that sticks with me and drives me a little crazy when it runs up against social expectations is that when we were 13+, everyone was on the dinner rotation. We didn’t have to make anything fancy and we didn’t have to do it alone, but once a week, dinner was our responsibility.
When I tell people this, they always, ALWAYS, assume I have sisters. They say shit like “oh I’d love to do that, but I have boys” and when I tell them I only have brothers, “oh you must have eaten a lot of burned dinners then!”
Like, no. To both of those statements. Sure we burned stuff when we were younger but we all learned to cook before 13, that was just the age where it became a scheduled chore. You know who did burn everything? My MOM. My Boomer dad did all the cooking because my mum didn’t want to and he was the one to help when we needed it, though my mum did help with prep/chopping things.
Fast forward to now, middle brother can make the best risotto I’ve ever had and my youngest brother is vegan and makes almost all his own meals because his partner isn’t and he doesn’t expect her to make two meals so he can eat.
The worst part of this social conditioning is how bullshit it is. I know this is not ingrained, I know people are teaching their sons to be assholes, and I look at my middle brother in his immaculate apartment with tasteful decor that he picked out himself and I look at my youngest brother who does all the clothes shopping for him and his partner because she struggles with it and it makes me want to just start biting people.
Men can be better than this, I GREW UP WITH THEM. I SAW IT. The parenting described above is fucking bullshit and it can be unlearned. My mum’s Russian and my dad’s a Boomer and they unlearned it, which means anybody can.
Seconding this. All of us got put into the dinner rotation as we got old enough for it. Gender didn't matter - knowing how to feed yourself is a universal thing. My mom is pretty conservative, but she was very clear on that - all of her kids would know how to feed themselves and take turns cooking dinner. But I know it's not as common as it should be - my brother had 3 housemates during college and he was the only one of them who knew any cooking. But the thing is, it totally can be. My siblings are all pretty awesome cooks, but it's because we got started helping young, got taught how to, and then it was made clear that it was expected of all of us to take turns feeding the family, regardless of gender. That was part of being a family.

Title: The Pipe of Freedom Artist: Thomas Stuart Smith (Scottish, 1815-1869) Date: 1869 Genre: portraiture, genre art Medium: oil on canvas Dimensions: 106.8 cm (42 in) high x 78.7 cm (30.9 in) wide Location: Stirling Smith Museum and Art Gallery, Stirling, Scotland, UK
Thomas Stuart Smith painted this striking portrait to celebrate the abolition of slavery in both the UK and the US. The man portrayed is enjoying a pipe at his leisure, symbolizing his freedom from enforced labor. Behind him, a yellow notice announcing a slave auction has been partially covered up by a copy of the Emancipation Proclamation.

@isuggesteatingtherich Suggestions?
i have a suggestion
now see about the boss in particular
why can rockstar games institutionalise you for life like nikita kruschev for being autistic
He didn't steal 10 million dollars. They made that number up as a loss, they never fucking had it. Rockstar has spent more than a billion fucking dollars on GTA VI and will likely make billions more when it gets released.
Uber is a fucking shell game of a company designed to leech investor capital and output bootleg cabs.
Nvidia posted a profit in 2023 of $4.37 billion. This is like someone stealing less than a penny from me.
And they lock this kid in a prison hospital for LIFE?
Capitalism is disgusting.
Nobody should buy GTA til they free Arion Kurtaj
he didn't even get to stand *trial*. because he's autistic. he's in an institution for life for hacking while autistic, without trial.
hey yall remember this
Okay, I looked this up rather than do a blind response, and there are some CRITICAL facts missing from this post.
--Arion was sentenced by a judge. Not Rockstar.
--he'd already been deemed mentally unfit to stand trial for other charges when this happened. That was not Rockstar's doing.
--while he was out on bail, he physically injured people and committed random property damage. This is a large factor in him being considered dangerous to the public.
--he committed blackmail.
--he hacked into the London Police CCTV. You may wonder why this is a big deal. Easy answer: imagine what a stalker could do with one of the most comprehensive surveillance systems in the world. That footage is heavily restricted for a reason.
--he is not in "a prison hospital." He is in a psychiatric rehabilitation center that's designed for detention. I know that probably sounds like splitting nails to make tacks to some people reading this, but there's actually a very big difference between the two--psych rehab aims to actually help people get better while keeping other civilians safe, rather than just tossing somebody into lockup.
--a fellow hacker who was only involved in the Rockstar hack, and who is autistic as well, got 18 months in youth social rehab.
Now we can certainly debate about the ethics of things like indefinite detention and the size of the Met's surveillance system. (I suspect our views would be more similar than you may think.) But pretending he got life in prison for daring to release a couple of video game clips is wildly misrepresenting the case.
He also was deemed unable to stand trial because he stated repeatedly that he would commit more cyber crimes, which he also did whilst on bail. Not because of autism.
In doing so, the charge actually changed from 'hacking with criminal intent' to 'hacking'. Because he admitted to having intent.
He also hacked into BT (our largest broadband provider), and EE and Orange, two large mobile data networks, and stole customer data.
At around the same time, the fellow hacker stood trial, as did Eddie Ratcliffe, the then-16-year-old autistic boy who murdered Brianna Ghey. I don't know if the fellow hacker required any additional considerations on trial, but Ratcliffe was only verbal towards his mother, so defended himself by typing to communicate.
@i-add-sources
Judge says hacker remains a high risk through his skills and motivation to carry out cyber-crime.
Reuters article with additional information.
He was sentenced by a Judge.
"The court heard that Kurtaj had been violent while in custody with dozens of reports of injury or property damage."
He hacked Rockstar while on bail, using an amazon firestick, his hotel TV, and a mobile phone. He is highly skilled.
In the same period of time in September 2022 he hacked Revolut and Uber
He broke into Rockstar's slack messaging system and threatened to release source code if they did not contact him.
He'd previously been convicted of hacking BT Group, EE, and Nvidia.
He previously admitted to an offense related to the hacking of London Police cloud storage.
Doctors deemed Kurtaj unfit to stand trial due to his severe autism so the jury was asked to determine whether or not he committed the alleged acts - not if he did so with criminal intent.
A jury found that he commited 12 offenses, including three counts of blackmail, two counts of fraud and six charges under the Computer Misuse Act
The 17-year-old who worked with him on the Nvidia and BT/EE hacks was sentenced to a youth rehabilitation order with 18 months supervision.
I cannot find any article claiming he was sentenced to anything but "life in hospital prison". Furhter research does seem to indicate that means a "high-security psychiatric hospital"
As someone who is active in the cybersec world: the 10M number is not "stolen money" as much as it's the cost of overtime hours and hiring security companies to a) make sure he's out of the system and b) all the leaks are fixed, possibly the purchase of new software and/or overhauling the security infrastructure. For big companies with a lot of network infra this gets real expensive real fast. It's also the combined number for Uber, Nvidia and Rockstar so I can't call it super unrealistic. A bit inflated, maybe.
@prismatic-bell is mostly correct. The physical injury and property damage were in custody, not on bail. The hacking was on bail. He hacked into london police cloud storage, not live CCTV cams.
@clueingforbeggs is partially correct. The first two points are incorrect (he was found unfit for trial and intent was not investigated, but not for the reasons stated), the last two correct. Radcliffe's accomodations outlined in this wiki page under trial - pretrial
Not gonna lie, part of me wants to shove this into the faces of all the people who claim I just make shit up. I made two relatively small errors, probably by misreading my source.
