I like the classification of âHard vs Soft magic systemsâ in fantasy only because I can say that Game of Thrones has softer magic system then Fairly Odd Parents
GoT magic: plot armor, special effects fiasco
Fairly Odd Parents magic: has consequences, is limited in power and the time in which it is available to a given non-magical creature, is utterly neutral and entirely dependent on the wishes of the user
What I love about the FOP magic system most is you donât get to know the rules before using it though. You donât get to figure out what you canât do until you try to do it and some buff dude with wings shows up and yells at you for trying to do it.
âŚand then you re-word your request and somehow do it anyway and they have to re-edit the book again cause the hubris of mistreated 10-year-olds knows no bounds.
