What the stories kept untold
 She had demanded him to come with her alone after that mission, she needed to collect samples in the forest for someone. It was a ruse and they both knew it, but he silently accepted. He had only nodded. The fade had gotten tainted by those last words he had said to her. When he had left her. But he hadnât left her, not really. He held his grip on her heart and sometimes she wanted to claw him out of her chest. But she couldnât. She hoped he would start to speak on her own turf, for a fight, for him to lose control and speak what he wanted to say.
He didnât speak, they walked in silence for what seemed like forever. Until he cried out her name because she hadnât noticed the enemies ahead of her. They were strongly outnumbered and she cursed herself for only taking one companion. She should have known better, even if it was not some high stakes mission, she should have.  Coleâs words resounded in her mind, even now she was trying to slash some darkspawnâs throat. If this would be the last thing on her mind, if this would be how she was defeated⌠no.
âHe hurts, an old pain from before,âŚâ
She slashed away at the monster in front of her as it let out  a shriek and fell to the ground.

Another came up at her from behind and she barely heard him in time. She ducked, turned and slashed at him as well. She felt her hand tremble ever so slightly. Songs were gone, all that was left was pain and regret. No, not regret. Just pain and screaming.
âYou're real, and it means everyone could be real.â
They had something real damnit. It was real to her. Tears were stinging in her eyes as she looked at him, fending off yet another one with his trademark manner. When he fought it looked like a dance. She felt a sharp pain in her upper legs and swirled her blade around her before she looked at the blood seeping through her trousers. Gashes. She gave out. No.
âIt changes everything, but it can't.â
She heard herself cry out and it was a relief, a release. Something she hadnât allowed herself to do, not this primal not this harsh. He had just dispatched an enemy an turned around to cast something she did not recognize at him. He was wounded too, blood streaming down from right above his right eyebrow. She sank to her knees and didnât quite know how but his eyes seemed to glow as he dispatched two enemies around her with one magic blast.
 He ran over to her, a kind of concern and detemination in his eyes she had missed and craved since he had broken up with her. He dropped his staff behind her and she planted her blade into the ground as he grabbed onto her, wordless. Her long braid was a mess and dangled behind her, as she curved her body against his. She remembered the days she had wanted to do this more than anything and now he was holding onto her.
He had never held her like this before. One arm tense and around her lower back, the other high and allowing him to pull her close. She felt herself unravel in his grasp but all the noise ringing in her head, disappeared. His face was buried against her neck. He eventually looked up.
It took only a second of looking into his eyes before all of her better judgement was gone. She grabbed a fistful of his tunic as feeling like he might dissipate at any given moment if she didnât. She kissed him as if her life depended on it, because she felt as if it did. He didnât kiss back at first, but he did not hold her any less closely either. She broke away, feeling even more hurt. The trail of blood on the side of his head seemed to have reached his cheek and she felt something seeping down hers as well. She didnât curve away from him, chest still pressed against his. But she only barely managed to look him in the eye. His eyes were closed, as if he was trying to close himself off from her again.
She felt his hot breath on her lips as he spoke.â Ir abelas. I canât.â
â Tel'abelas. I donât care. Right now I donât fucking care. Donât you dare let go.â She kissed him again and this time he gave in as she did. Hungrily, desperate, as if his life depended on it. She felt a million emotions wash over her as guided her onto his lap. She barely felt the pain stinging in her legs anymore , adrenaline rushing through her veins, as he broke away from her and stood up. Her confusion didnât last long, because as soon as she looked him in the eyes and took his hand she realised he wasnât closing himself off from her. She stood up slowly, looking at him, and they needed no words.Â
They both picked up their weapons until they reached a slightly more covered spot and there they planted them back into the ground. As soon as they had, they gazed at each other and she heard a growl before he picked her up and pushed her against a tree. He looked at her for a second, as if to ask her if she was sure and she kissed his neck as response. What followed was a moment of madness before theyâd lose it all ⌠ The flame had been reignited and was about to scorch them both. Neither of them gave a damn anymore. It was perfect. And that moment she realised this would be part of the story nobody else would get to know about. It was also when she realised she had as much of a mark on him as he on her.Â
This was no goodbye. It never would be between them.
