If the Government Treated Men Like It Treats Women
yall as a trans man i know more than anyone that abortion laws impact all afab people, not just cis women, but like⌠this is predominantly and fundamentally a womenâs issue.
iâve literally seen posts that say people should stop saying stuff like âabortion is a womanâs rightâ because its trans exclusive or causes dysphoria or whatever and like. yall. no. it is not transphobic to acknowledge that abortion restrictions target women and are based in misogyny, because they are made with the lawmakersâ definition of a woman in mind, not ours.
like i highly value inclusive and gender neutral language and trans people should definitely ALWAYS be part of the conversation of reproductive justice and bodily autonomy, and when talking about pregnancy in general i think trans inclusive language should be used, but the (cis) men who create and back these laws do it for the express purpose of subjugating women, and they are running under the assumption that every women has a vagina and every person with a vagina is a woman. these laws are made to control womenâs bodies specifically, even if other bodies are also put in danger.
i know people have good intentions but it is not transphobic to recognize that abortion as a political topic is a womenâs issue. it is a matter of misogyny. it always has been.
this is sooooo fucked up. iâm livid
I was raped in 2016. That is how I got my son. As of yesterday, the jury decided that my case wasnât enough so they dismissed all the char

Every day I watch the âlegalâ system (and men) sell the lie that if it really happened, we should report it and then they turn around and make an example of women that come forward

And in a shocking twist, Elon Musk has not kept his word on helping Flint residents afford water filters
âŞYou know what? I have a lot of followers. If I could get a list of contacts for people who need filters I bet I could wrangle enough donations to pay for them âŹ
Okay! I have a plan! Here is the link to the Flint Water Fund by United Way: bit.ly/FlintStrong
It 100% goes towards buying bottled water for residents. The government has cut off aid to us and these charities are all we have.
I do have one request though! On the page provided it asks for your affiliation (if you have one) and if you guys could put âkaijunoâ in that box, it will help me know how much money you guys have raised!
Please consider donating if you can đ
He couldnât believe I would say no
My first boyfriend (we were both 19) started out like a fairytale. He was so sweet, always texting me, wanting me to call before I went to bed so he could tell me good night, call in the morning so he could wish me a good day - and then he proposed to me three months in, with a replica of Galadrielâs ring from the Lord of the Rings books. I said yes, in all my naivete.
A month later, he started pressuring me into getting an apartment together - I said no, I wanted to finish school, and I didnât want to have to work full time at the retail job I was working. This, apparently, shattered him. He started yanking on his hair, crying, shouting that he couldnât believe I would say no. Didnât I love him? Didnât I want to be with him? Before I knew it, I was on my back, crying, trying to shove him off as he went at it, ignoring my protests. I still remember how horrible it felt laying there afterwards, silently crying as he cleaned himself up.
A few months later, when I finally confronted him about it, he couldnât believe that I was accusing him of rape. He wasnât that kind of person. He was so hurt by my refusal to move in with him that he couldnât see my distress. How could he be a rapist? It didnât matter how hurt I was, it mattered that I dare accuse him of such a thing.
Once I left him, he would call me between 50 to 200 times a day, depending on if he had work, as well as sending me letters via email. I would never find someone who cared about me like he did. How dare I try to leave him. He was the best someone like me could ever dream of having. He eventually started stalking me at my job. He would drive to my parentsâ house at 2 am and wake me up from my bedroom window, asking for me to let him in so we âcould just talk things throughâ. My telling him to leave me alone was not enough. My blocking his number was not enough. He finally stopped harassing me when I moved an hour away for school, but I firmly believe that was only because no one would tell him where I went.
Itâs been three years. I stupidly unblocked his number, thinking that over one thousand days was enough time. He sent me a text recently. âHey, if you ever want to hang out some time, Iâm back in state. No hard feelings :)â
us: violence against women is wrong! women should be able to say no to whoever they want! basic biology terms shouldnt be censored! the sex industry is a horrible trap for most women! your feelings are not more important than realit-

tumblr mirrors on âphotosugarâ
So idk if others have noticed this before - but itâs the first time Iâm seeing this, hence the post.
Thereâs a website, https://www.photosugar.com, which apparently mirrors all pictures, gifsets etc. people post on their tumblrs (and also other social media sites like twitter and instagram, if I understand it correctly). An eample for a tumblr user, with my name: https://www.photosugar.com/tu/lordhellebore
Now it wonât turn up anything but a 404 error in my case, because I sent an e-mail to the contact address, which is [email protected]Â with the title âMy content on your websiteâ:
Hello, itâs come to my attention that you are mirroring all of the posts containing pictures/gifs that I post on my tumblr. I am asking you to stop pulling the content from my tumblr and to delete me from your website. tumblr username is âlordhelleboreâ Thank you.
I got a reply consisting of the single word âremovedâ after just one day, and as you can see, it worked perfectly fine with the informal mail I sent. So if you want them to stop mirroring your tumblr, it seems all you really need to to is this. Â
I canât test the site for all of my mutuals, but Iâm tagging a few whom I found on there by random trial & error, and I suggest you look yourself up if you see this post and dislike tumblr mirrors (even if this one is only for pictures, not text).

My blog appears there. Donât want to. Will mail asap.
EDIT : Theyâve added a link to remove peopleâs profiles : https://www.photosugar.com/remove
Wtf. I was on there. Easy to remove.
That is pretty creepy
Holey mother of cheese.
This is not fair use, yâall. Everything you post is copyright you, and tumblrâs rights to it are spelled out in the policy we all agreed to without reading when we signed up. These people are just yanking your photo posts (including your reblogs) and publishing them in a modified format without even notifying you, for whatever purpose - some way of making money off our labor, I guess.
I think the worst part was showing even the last likes⌠For God sake, I use tumblr just forSim-related stuff, bu what if Iâd like to post a pic of myself?
Removed myself, they could at least ask for permission, before doing something like that.
I just removed my profile. That was creepy!
Signal boost! I was on there too, and by Sena, Do Not Want.
Just removed myself, so weird. I wasnât expecting a sims blog like mine to be copied onto anything.
Check your blog names

Because abortions aren't the only way the patriarchy wants to control your junk
OBGYN: Yeah, you are exhibiting all the signs of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. Iâm so sorry.
Me: Huh? Oh, yeah. Insulin resistance, impossible weight loss, pre-disposition to type II diabetes, painful AF periods. Likelihood of bleed outs. Crap. That blows.
OBGYN: Yeah, well that too.
Me: *blinks* What?
OBGYN: Well, PCOS makes it very difficult for a woman to conceive and carry.
Me: BWHAHAHAHA. Yeah. No. No babies. Ever. Never wanted them. At all. Maternal instinct is not strong with this one. Only upside today.
OBGYN: Well then. Not exactly problem solved, but weâll run with it.
Me: So about the MIND-SEARING PAIN and occasional HEAVY AF BLEEDING. When can we deal with that.
OBGYN: Not until you are 35.
Me: Dah fuq?
OBGYN: Not my rules. Hospitalization wonât even consider any treatment unless itâs life or death until youâre 35.
Me: Why?
OBGYN: Because you might want to have a baby.
Me: Iâm 31. I didnât want kids when I was 11, I didnât want them at 21, and I sure as shit donât want them now. Canât I just sign a form that says âI donât ever want a baby take it out, take it out nowâ?
OBGYN: Nope.
Me: Why?
OBGYN: Government rules. No removal of baby making parts before 35 unless your life is in immediate jeopardy.
TL;DR: The government knows better about your baby making parts than you do.

Where do pro-lifers get this bizarre idea that pregnancy and childbirth carry NO risks (physical or mental)? Have they not even seen how many people die from childbirth in the US or UK each year? They talk about it like it's just being overweight then having a big poo.
They think that forcing everyone to continue their pregnancy, whether theyâre able to or not, will not have any negative effects on that personâs mental/physical/emotional health.
As if.
Even if they do believe that there is a risk, they see it as minimal as best or as something that wouldnât be anywhere as âbadâ than if that person gets an abortion.
I think itâs tied into the promotion of the ânaturalâ we see in a lot of different arenas (similar to anti-vaxxers and people who are blanket anti GMO without udnerstanding the nuance) where the idea is that since womenâs bodies are âdesignedâ to do the thing, that must mean the thing has no danger to it.
So having the baby is ânaturalâ while using outside means to abort the baby is âunnaturalâ and thus MUST carry more risk because of being not-natural.
I think itâs a combo of general lack of education (most people know very, very little about pregnancy in a scientific sense or medical senseâfor crying out loud, some congressmen thought youâd see the baby if you put a camera down the momâs throat) and the fact that pregnancy itself is often only presented as a risk of sex in that âyouâll have a baby, then!â which reduces pregnancy down to the outcome, ignoring how long it takes and the effect it has.
There needs to be a lot more education about the duration and effects of pregnancy. Like, my mother had a comparatively easy oneâŚuntil a month til the due date when apparently I decided to threaten her life by making her blood pressure go haywire. THEN they tried to force her to dilate and it didnât even happen with a nurseâs idea of âscream at her that this should be workingâ and had to give up on that and go to a C section. The epidural needle then made my aunt faint (she pretended sheâd lost a contact to not panic mom) and mom doesnât recall much else.
THEN after all that, they couldnât boot her from the hospital fast enough once she was awake and coherent post-surgery, an attitude a lot of pregnant women face. Thankfully we had no complications other than me being a little shit who only wanted to drink a tiny bit once an hour or so, but allegedly I was an easy baby outside of that.
I mean, there are so many women who DO have complications after being sent home after having a baby, ânaturallyâ via the vagina or via C-section. And a ton of them have no idea what to do because again, no one really talks about this shit. People act like the only issue with having a baby is âlosing your figureâ when thereâs a whole lot more going on there.
We need a LOT more education on this subject to reach people.
A lot of medical research that is out about pregnancy is also centered on saving or prolonging the life of the fetus or the newborn. Most hospitals have procedures on what to do to save a newborns life but not on how to save the motherâs life. This is the reason why the US has such a high maternal mortality rate (highest mortality rate compared to other developed countries) that is only increasing.
This of course isnât helped at all by anti-abortion laws that make it harder for people with life threatening or potentially life threatening pregnancies to get an abortion. Texas saw an increase in maternal mortality rate after they put in all of those TRAP laws a few years back.
Hell, in the United States itâs safer to get a legal abortion than it is to give birth. But you never see a pro-lifer talking about that.
The fact pregnancy discrimination exists should be telling, honestly.
Not just the mistreatment in the hospital and other reproductive violence - such as forced epidurals, âthe husband stitchâ, forced C-sections, etc - but the mistreatement of pregnant people in their daily lives.
People will touch you without your permission. Grab you, even. Ask you invasive questions. Follow you. Try to do things âforâ you.
But also at the same time, complain about anything and youâre just whining and lazy. Canât stand for 8+ hours? Whining and lazy. Having cramps and pain? Whining and lazy. Canât lift heavy items? Whining and lazy. Need to use the bathroom a lot? Whining and lazy.
I remember having to defend pregnancy as a temporary disability to numerous people in my life. They just donât see how or why a pregnancy needs to be treated like someone is significantly injured and hindered. Itâs âjustâ pregnancy.
They donât even know the lifelong alterations and complications that come with it. Itâs not even just âriskyâ pregnancy but pregnancy in general. I donât think Iâve ever known a single mother who didnât have urinary incontinence directly as a result of pregnancy. And thatâs on the âlesserâ side of the potential problems you can be landed with even with a totally normal pregnancy. Pregnancy literally moves, squishes, stifles, and crushes the organs and muscles in your body, often causing permanent damage and/or atrophy. People donât think about it, they donât know it.
When I first got into sexology and sex education and read about reproductive and sexual health myths, I thought, surely people canât be THIS misinformed and uninformed. But, by god, if people (particularly cis men and prolifers) arenât making a competition out of who can be the most disastrously wrong about this shitâŚÂ
I had my daughter four years ago. Four years ago I was pretty healthy, no major issues, and overall a pretty good candidate for having a baby. My OB was supportive of it, and I felt pretty good throughout the pregnancy.
I had her after 21 hours of labor. 21. Seriously, I was forced to stay awake, and not allowed to eat ANYTHING. My blood sugar was nonexistent, and they would only let me have water and ice. Thankfully, my daughter and I both made it. But my problems were only just starting.
Not with my baby, no, she was perfect. It was with the healthcare system. You see, since I had âno complicationsâ my OB wanted me to try and have another. Pressured me about it every time I saw him. They were passive aggressive about me wanting birth control, and tried to talk me into having just one more âlittle blessingâ. It got to the point that I switched offices.
It wasnât only that either.
You see, babies get all of their nutrients from the mothers. My daughter took anything I wasnât supplying in spades from my body. When my wisdom teeth FINALLY came in they were hollow. I have crippling migraines, bone spurs, and a cracked tailbone that all resulted from the pregnancy. And yes, Iâm slightly incontinent. Everyone thinks itâs funny when you sneeze or laugh to hard and pee when youâre pregnant. Itâs not funny when youâre post pregnancy anymore. People just think its gross.
My life changed forever. In some ways good, but in a lot of ways bad. Iâm 25 and feel like Iâm 40, but doctors just say Iâm out of shape. The reality is that we need them to learn more about post pregnancy outside of the baby blues. Its terrifying to see all the other 20 somethings with tons of energy and no issues and wonder whatâs happened to my own body.
Iâm scared. And no one cares because my daughter was born, and thatâs all that matters.
My mother was almost forced into having another child by her gynocologist back in the 80s after me and my sister were born because each pregnancy had made her endometriosis WORSE and the doctor was saying âwell, maybe THIS pregnancy will cure it!â and additionally since my sister was ill at birth she got âyou should have another baby in case this one diesâ.
Irony is my sister was 100% healthy while I, the âperfect babyâ, am now permanently disabled. I say WAS healthy because after she had a baby sheâs suffered horrendous ovarian cysts andâŚendometriosis. And now HER gyno is telling her another baby will âcureâ that.
Weâre actually NOT designed to have babies. Once human brains started to evolve to be much larger the birth canal etc. did NOT follow suit.
I could be wrong but I remember reading something before that humans are actually born pre mature even at 9 months because other mammals, especially other primates, babies are so far more developed than we are when theyâre born. A baby horse? Can stand up immediately after being born. Humans canât even hold their head up. Our skulls arenât even fully developed yet leaving that dangerous soft spot. Weâre all born prematurely in terms of development at 9 months and the only reason that is is because our bodies cannot handle pregnancy long enough for us to come out fully developed like other mammals. You would die carrying that long. Humans bodies in terms of reproduction, and letâs face it, a lot of other areas as well, are completely FUCKED.
Iâve heard that!
After posting this I looked it up and read an article stating that the ideal gestational period would be 18-21 months but that our bodies canât handle it metabolically. The fetuses metabolic needs at around 9 months is so high that our bodies either need to push it out or they will shut down so obviously they just push it out because survival. The size of the head isnât as much of an issue when it comes to gestation period, though Iâm not trying to make light of it because itâs still very much a problem, fuck our large frontal lobes and tiny bipedal pelvises. So yeah weâre extremely weak and underdeveloped compared to other primates offspring because our bodies were not designed to carry the term we would need to be on par with them.
It takes sacrifice to bear a child. Itâs appalling how few people understand that considering how common it is.
I have 3 children. Pregnancy was Hell. Literal Hell. For my first two I threw up so much that I needed an IV to stay hydrated. I had heartburn so bad that I threw up blood, but was also told that it wasnât a concern, because it didnât affect the baby, only me. With all 3 of my pregnancies, I had overnight hospital stays and periods of bed rest. My daughter was an emergency c-section at 33 weeks, which took a huge toll on me mentally and physically. I suffered from PPD.Â
I asked for a tubal ligation during my c-section and was told no, because my baby might die and then Iâd want another, right?Â
I made a choice to get pregnant and with my later two, I had an idea of how bad it would be and still made that choice. But it was my choice. It also wanât an easy choice. I had to choose between what I knew would be a very physically and emotionally taxing experience and my p[ersoanl dream of having 3 children. In the end, it was worth it to me and Iâm lucky I had a very supporitve partner. But it was still hard, it still left long term side effects and no one should be forced to make that decision and put themselves through that.

Me: feminism was created for the issues and problems specific to females, and we shouldnât guilt and pressure women into redefining and changing it to make people who are not affected by those issues feel included and comfortable.
This website:
women: have wombs
republican men:
Person with a penis, full beard, wearing menâs clothing: Will you date me?
Lesbian: No thanks, Iâm a lesbian.
Same person with a penis: But I identify as a woman.
Lesbian: That literally changes nothing.
Trans Rights Activists: This is transmysogyny. Stop fetishizing genitals. Stop reducing women to their genitals.

Newbie radfem: terfs and radical feminists are different!! Iâm not a terf Iâm a radical feminist!!!
Me: *sips my tea whistfully* terf is a meaningless word that is cast upon women to silence them. Those who use the word do not even know itâs meaning and simply use it against anyone including those who do not align themselves with radical feminist ideology. Terf is not a category of abusive women, but a category of women who simply do not bow down to kiss the feet of trans rights activists and genderists. Those women who believe that they should think critically of everything we do, and that goes on in society. My child, you will always be a terf in their eyes because from women who believe in biology to women who believe in âkillingâ trans people: It does not matter, because a smart woman who will not subscribe to a certain set of ideals unthinkingly will always be a terf.
I cannotâwill notâstand idly by while female people are decentered within the feminist movement.
Reproductive rights and justice has always been a cornerstone of the feminist movement. But lately Iâve noticed too many women being silenced when speaking out about reproductive health issues. Why? Because itâs being posited by many within liberal feminist circles that centering feminism around reproductive rights is not inclusive towards trans women.
Reproductive rights is now once again taboo within many feminist circles because trans women feel invalidated by statements such as âno uterus, no opinion.â Women who center their feminism around reproductive rights are often called out for not being âtrans inclusive.â This is completely ignorant to the fact that reproductive rights issues do very much impact trans men, who also have uteruses.
âNo uterus, no opinionâ is inclusive to trans men. It is inclusive to non-binary folks who are biologically female. It is inclusive of the people to whom reproductive rights issues are actually relevant.
And trans women, having been born biologically male, will never have to worry about these issues that are specific to people who were born female. That is simply a fact. A trans woman will never need an abortion. A trans woman will never have to deal with polycystic ovary syndrome. A trans woman will never have to worry about whether or not their health insurance will cover their birth control. A trans woman will never need a papsmear. A trans woman will never give birth. A trans woman will never have to deal with the intense stigma that surrounds menstruation.
Does that mean that trans womenâs issues donât matter? Absolutely not. Trans issues should absolutely be discussed as well. But not at the expense of womenâs reproductive health.
My plea to everyone, and especially to trans women and trans allies is this: please do not silence conversations about reproductive rights simply because they may not apply to you. Recognize that the reproductive health and rights of biologically female people are gravely at stake right now. To avoid talking about these issues for the sake of inclusiveness will ultimately cause very real and drastic harm to countless numbers of women, non-binary females, and trans men.
