#so did they miss the part where gatsby ends up floating dead in a pool and all the miserable deaths in wuthering heights#or did they miss that because there weren’t any chapters titled In Which The Sinners Are Punished For Their Errors#like. even if you require explicit moral instruction from literature it’s pretty hard to miss the comeuppance in those.

If these authors read those classics and came away with those “woke” opinions, the only thing it tells me is that they slept through English Lit and didn’t do their homework.  I mean, I could say “All I learned from ‘The Hunger Games’ is that it’s 100% okay for children to fight to the death if it’s a longstanding and accepted societal practice.” But then I’d get a lot of hate in my inbox because that’s clearly not the point of the series and how basic I am for taking text at face value.  Do you think that concept suddenly changes because a book was published before 1960?

I have a headcanon that Hermione insists her children attend some primary muggle schooling before Hogwarts, just as she had done. Now, imagine Arthur Weasley attending his grandchild’s science fair, being the ultra proud grandfather….and yet also completely geeking out over absolutely EVERYTHING.

After a couple years Arthur Weasley brings his own ribbons. They shimmer in a way that makes everyone wonder what kind of ink he uses—“secrets!” he tells anyone who asks—but they’re beautiful. They’re coveted even more than the official ribbons, because they remind you that while he was heaping praise on you, you felt magical.

Why don’t you Google average wait times to receive a medical procedure. There are Canadians that come to the U.S. to get medical care rather than wait over a month to get it done in Canada.

I had cancer and im canadian dumbass i know full well what the wait times are like and its only long if its shit that can wait. Im sorry but im ok with waiting with a non life threatening injury if no one gets turned away from healthcare because they’re poor. The only canadians that go to the united states are rich enough that they are willing to spend the money to save a few hours waiting

Yeah, that happens in the US too though. Literally every single day. Go into any ER in the country at like 9:30 pm and you will see dozens of people with painful injuries waiting hours to see a doctor. People die in the US waiting to see a doctor. The only difference is that it costs them hundreds of thousands of dollars to do so.

I had to wait six months to see an endocrinologist in the US and when I wanted to switch doctors I had to wait another six months to see somebody else, who are these people in the US who don’t have wait times?

I’m studying to be an EMT right now and my textbook shades the healthcare system so hard. For example: one of the main reasons healthcare in the US is so expensive is because people don’t have health insurance so they can’t go to the doctor when they first notice symptoms. Instead they have to wait until it’s an absolute emergency. Lemme tell ya, it’s a lot cheaper to treat someone’s heart condition than it is to treat a heart attack or cardiac arrest.

The effect that A Quiet Place had on the theater was so unreal. People were afraid to eat. Half the people, myself and the guy beside me included, spent tense movie moments covering their mouths as to not make a sound, one time somebody stepped on a nacho container during a VERY tense moment and the entire theater lost their shit. People were gasping, one woman screamed, everyone chatised the individual quickly and hushedly before returning to the movie. When the lights came up everyone was still whispering. People were tiptoeing out like everyone was fucking silent and to have THAT effect on your audience shows something.
