SO, new AME guidelines are out, and the Gender Dysphoria mental health forms are GONE, but we knew this already. Some of my sources said that HRT was under revision for the new guidelines, but when they posted them, HRT was not under the revisions. I know people who have gotten approved recently, so either they couldn't deny until the new guidelines were out, or everything is buisness as usual, and they cant get rid of the current system, so they're just obscuring it as much as possible.
I'll try to post updates when I obtain them, but for now, BUSINESS AS USUAL, as far as I am aware, PERSONALLY.
Update: So, everything is simply just a stab in the dark. Currently, it seems there just, aren't any guidelines on HRT or Gender Dysphoria, which means doing things the way they were would depend on whoevers desk your report lands on, which could end.. badly. or go really well. Its all just a stab in the dark, and it requires people attempting to obtain a medical while on HRT to see what happens and what they get told. There is no published guide to HRT and aviation medicals, which means we're at the whims of whatever the UNpublished guide is. Any speculation is just a wild stab in the dark. I'll keep updated as time goes on.
Update 2:
From what Iâve heard, the FAA is following through on the old AME guidelines despite the HRT not showing up anymore in the newest edition. This is from someone who works inside the FAAâs medical agency. We donât know the name as they wanted to stay anonymous. As long as you fill out the paperwork the same and operate under the assumption of the same requirements, youâll be fine.
