Do you think in-universe the mobile suits has some legacy code left over from their developmental process (like RX-78 -> GM -> Jegan -> Gustav Karl) process like the MS technically has the ability to check if it can reach for its backpack beam sabers even it has none or some weird odd limitations where it can't refire its engines 3 seconds after sending the first command because it would blow up the engines 3 MS designs ago but not its own and nobody bothered changing the code source engine style
