I tracked down the article and I’m tears. He broke it off with her because he felt that his inability to get professional and educational opportunities due to racism, plus all the negative attention they got, would hold her back:

“It didn’t matter how well I did the project, it was always a D,” he said of one professor’s class. “I had never experienced that type of racism, that way. I said, ‘It’s just not going to be good.’ I really thought about her.”

“Society wasn’t going to let us be together and she be happy. … She’d get tired of the stares; I just thought it was unfair to her,” Howard said of his decision. “Her happiness was the most important thing.”

Howard arranged to meet Myra in the Ohio State student union and ended their relationship. Myra didn’t say anything, but got up and walked away. At the opposite ends of the block, the two turned and looked back at each other and waved. Myra said she felt that meant they would see each other again someday.

I’m so happy they found each other again, but so mad that they were kept apart by bigotry for so long!

I think the most Gemini thing my dad has ever done is one year he threw himself a reverse surprise party for the sheer drama of it. What is a reverse surprise party? you may ask, well let me tell you. So he invites over all his friends and family and then in the middle of dinner he stands up and announces that it’s not a regular dinner, it is in fact, his birthday dinner (his exact words were “Surprise! …. it’s my Birthday”) cue everyone looking panicked, because oh god I don’t have a gift, I don’t even have a card, but my father, wine glass still in hand assures them not to worry and reveals a pile of presents he got for himself and wrapped for everyone to pick one and give it to him as their gift. And honestly? My father is such a legend.

hello there friend, it is me here to help u with this simple guide, bc while asian individuals can have yellow undertones they do not have yellow skin, (u predominantly see this done with east asian folks btw, but i’ve seen it extend beyond just that tbh)

this isn’t something that just happens with Asian folks either, like another thing u see a lot if white people doing is depicting Native Americans with rly red saturated skin. like i see a lot of white ppl drawing poc with rly saturated colours instead of their actual skin tones and that’s a thing stemmed in racism and xenophobia
