My first heavily beaded piece in ages! (Since probably August of last year.)
I am so in love with how it turned out. I think this is a good piece to demonstrate the versatility of tatting and lace stylistically.

Twirly Doily by Jane Eborall
The Lace Coven’s first Doily Along starts today! ✨
We’ll make a small doily from Free Vintage Crochet:
It’s an easy pattern and a great choice if you recently started tatting and are intimidated by doilies! Join us on Discord, we’ll share our progress as we go on with the doily and celebrate each other’s achievements!
you should get a second evening for reading fan fiction. And you should get an extra day in the week to do arts and crafts.
made a card for my aunt in law to thank her for giving me her grandmother's vintage lace

I finally got off my butt today and finished the doily!
And then I realized that it matches my living room area rug
Cody for scale:
I found the free pattern here. It's meant for shuttle tatting but easily adaptable for needle tatting if you're like me and hopeless with a shuttle
Another one of my shuttle tatting journey!
3D roses pattern is from Fiber Art by Jeanne's youtube channel, and the green wreath from Itoshimatsu on Instagram.
tatting protip; made the stitches too tight and the ring won't close all the way? just fucking make a join instead of closing it. no one will notice.
you can't even tell
If the gap isn't too big you can also just make sure you start the next chain tightly to the one before it and fudge it that way too.
No one will know unless you tell them or they're looking specifically for it.
how did I remember to bring my lace handkerchief to school but not a pen let alone a pencil

Some needle lace flowers I’ve made lately!! The top two are my own pattern. The bottom one is from the book ‘needle lace flowers’
heart of kandrakar, give me the strength to finish this giant doily
I shared this on my Instagram a few days ago and forgot to put it up here as well 😬
Hope you like it! And if you decide to give this pattern a go - share some pics, give feedback or something hahah 🥺🤞🌈💓
Celebrating 150 Coven Lacers 🌙
Our community of witchy lace makers recently reached 150 members and I thought it would be a great excuse for a celebration post 🎉✨
This community has grown a lot in less than a year, also and especially thanks to its members who share their works here on Tumblr and were able to reach various corners of laceblr - isn’t it cool?
I like to think about this community as a sort of international lace guild, where everyone can join from wherever they live and without having to pay for a membership.
I myself have learned a lot through this community about lace techniques different from mine: when I founded it, I barely knew what bobbin or needle lace looks like. I also learned new things about tatting, and I saw many members join the community with one specific technique in mind and end up trying other techniques and finding support in their learning journey from other lacers.
And since lace is a fiber art and nearly all fiber artists are into different fiber arts at the same time, there’s also plenty of opportunities to learn more about standard crocheting, knitting, weaving, sewing and of course, our beloved spinning! (I’m still amazed by how many lacers are also spinners like myself)
If this inspires you and you are not a Coven Lacer yet, maybe it’s time for you to join!

My first attempt at a magic square! This one was a lot like a little maze and I thoroughly enjoyed working on it.
