I made a happy lil swan!!
I got impatient and took it off the pillow as soon as I finished so the half stitches went kinda wonky but I'm really happy with it!! I'm tempted to do it again but use idrija corners instead of the ones the pattern tells you to use just because I'm more comfortable with that.
Finished my next square!!! Egg!!!
I promise there's a textile under there.

Right now I don't have time for anything serious, so instead of beating myself over the head for not making any lace at all, I've decided to make some Cluny lace bookmarks. I made prickings for them some years ago, but I didn't have any suitable thread of decent quality at the moment. So I put them away and, eventually, completely forgot about their existence %) Although I like the final result, next time I'll try to use thinner pins for the joints, somehow I'm not very fond of the big holes my regular ones leave.
Finally blocking my wedding shawl! Queen sized bed for scale. Can't see the bed? Oops, yeah, the shawl is covering everything except the pillows.
Pattern is the Rosemary shawl.
Detail shots!
It's not quite squared, but I'm planning on blocking it again closer to the wedding. Just wanted to see how large it was and how many mats I'd need. Literally every blocking mat I own, apparently.
I’ve been working on a pattern from the Ipswitch Lace book by Karen Thompson and it’s going MUCH better than expected!
There’s a few issues and I wish I’d chosen a heavier gimp thread but it’s awesome.
I started trying bobbin lace for the shot at creating a more historically accurate lace for costuming. I’m actually doing it now!
So proud of myself here 💛.
