Back to making stitch markers/earrings. The butterflies are for a friend. The spiders are for me.
My last week in the 31 days of lace challenge!
Some work on a doily WIP, some onion rings as a convention pocket craft, and a small motif to turn into earrings.
Today's coven lace item. This bad boy is a show of overcoming and adapting to adversity (thread snapping twice and thread chicken) but it is done and I'm happy with it. Pressing it was a bit of a mess because I need to clean my iron.
Anyway, no idea how to approach the next one on my to-do list, but I'll figure it out.
I'm going to combine my wips into one post.
I started the main pattern sample for my upcoming pattern. I paused the other one I was working on because I really do need this one to be done first so I can actually release the pattern before giving the shop the sample. The yarn is going to look really cool when it's done. The rainbow stuff is UV reactive and has sparkle 🙂↕️
I might push myself to try and get this done by Friday so I can wear it to the show.
So I was working on this motif last week and then it died on me when I did a join. The thread said fuck you in particular and snapped.
I restarted it today and got to the highlighted part.
I'd like to finish it tomorrow before class. We'll see.

Week 1 of 31 Days of Coven Lace!
I'll start with these stitch markers. I did two different butterflies for them because I need to diversify my options. These are with size 8 thread and are a gift. My besties son's partner was living with an abusive family and moved out last weekend. It didn't go well (it never does) so my bestie and I are putting together a fiber arts bin of stuff for them since they crochet. This is their favorite color so I figured they would like some cute markers with it!
I also made some decent progress on this shawl. I went from 70% complete to 84%, so not too bad. The pattern calls this "lightweight". I disagree. Nothing with 900g of worsted weight yarn is lightweight. This thing is a nightmare to move around. I'm glad I have these giant safety pin shawl pins. They've been amazing at helping me manage the bulk of the shawl. I just roll/fold up the shawl and pin it rolled up. Makes it easier to turn for the rows 🙂↕️
Ideally I will finish this by Sunday. I would like to show it off at stitching because if not, they won't see it before the fair lmao
