Made a load of my old practice pieces into hairclips, happier with some than others but overall pretty chuffed with how they turned out
Back to basics
Playing around a bit just to confirm that I sadly hate working with perle cotton, and don't really like my midland bobbins. I think I might like the midlands better on a round top pillow. I find them really hard to handle being so thin and light. I think if they were hanging off it would be a bit easier like with the Honiton bobbins
Finished my fifth fishy! Very happy with him, though I did have a couple of thread getting caught places they shouldn't be. The woes of working in black
I made this piece of lace!!
I really like how it came out, especially because I’m still a beginner. I’m happy to answer any questions about it!
Pattern is 6 - Spiders and Different Headsides by Jo Edkins (but I repeated it a few times) in Lizbeth 20 thread.

I’m still very slowly but steadily working through sampler after sampler with pleasing results. Also frustrating just bc I have so little time and so much fatigue.
This is one sampler from about 6 weeks ago that I think is particularly pretty, and a nice break from regular fans and footsides. There are some tensions issues; i’m working on that.

My flanders is finished! Pattern is St Valentines Day by Kumiko Nakazaki
Onto the second wing! 6.6.26
Truly, the world is a better place for having skilled people who are willing to use their skills in the pursuit of incredible silliness.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this is strangely soothing.

Another!
I glued the threads in place to start this time which definitely helped. Still having trouble finding the best way to tie them at the end and keep the braids

Lace (Silksong) out of bobbin lace
This weekends work: slightly listing paris ground and snowflakes
First wing completed as of 23.5.26, only took 6 hours :)
Proof of concept. Playing with lace on a wire frame.

Doing a bucks edging sample to practice kat stitch before doing Paris. Somehow, remembering to do half stitch not cloth stitch for the pearls is the hardest.
I know my thread's a little thick but it's the thinnest I've got, these are only for learning how to do things anyway. Starting on the Daisy Bookmark sampler from the book, it's teaching me how to do spiders for the first time!
