under discussed part of the Boost (bc there is so much other crazy shit to talk about in there lbr) is the fact that at the end when they're in the studio on the podcast Jay literally acts like he has never seen a workplace before. like he kind of can't believe that there are musicians who work there and stuff. And then Matt and the host both burst out laughing at him because duh, of course people work there, music is a billion dollar industry! but Jay has been kept so isolated and alienated from the real world that this is genuinely news for him. he forgot that he has a profitable and marketable skill. meanwhile Matt is just laughing in his face about how clueless he really is about how working society functions. it takes a lot for me to say this but I genuinely did feel bad for Jay in that moment bc imagine basically immediately forgiving your friend for nearly accidentally killing you with drugs you didn't even know you were taking only to have him turn around and do that bullshit. i love the Jay torture nexus so much bc no matter what wild scenarios we can cook up for these characters the actual events that happen in the canon are somehow still much crazier
