The girls(sex) are something that Matt's had the practice to deal with, and he's dealt with it with screaming, crying, terrorizing, staged suicide-ing. Sex is dealt with. It's not something Matt can give to Jay so it does not exist, it does not factor into their lives, that bridge out has been cut off. It's something that has been agreed upon even if it hasn't been discussed. But it's something Matt is insecure about so he's constantly vigilant about it. The subject puts him on edge and it's something he's prepared to go to war over

But money is something Matt can give to Jay, and so he does, every day. All the money is his money and all the money Jay ever needs comes from Matt, and that's done, that's something they never need to talk about again bc that's how that works. Matt's got that way out locked down tight, and he takes it for granted that that's taken care of, Jay never needs to leave for that reason and Jay knows this so what the fuck does he need a job for?!
