with the caveat that if the ghost of jamie drysdale isn't haunting trevor i'm not interested - my take on quinntrevor is that trevor undergoes a transformation every summer back to the teenage version of himself (some voluntary, some not) and with the knowledge that jamie is not going to be available to him for the foreseaable because they're not really offseason kind of friends (too complicated), trevor throws himself back into the hughes circle. quinn/trevor is delicious to me mostly when you spin it that the jhtz dynamic is increasingly tense/competitive/weirdly-distant-even-though-they-spend-all-this-time-together as they get older (and as jack has a hot girlfriend to show off) (do they talk about the summer trevor also ditched jack & co?) and trevor gets even closer to quinn both naturally and as a silent sort of protest that jack never actually notices. quinn knows that trevor's heart isn't entirely in it, and that this is both trevor trying to get one over on jack, and regressing into something familiar, as a way of avoiding the looming presence of jamie drysdale in his thoughts, and he's mostly okay with it - which is also a massive relief. bear in mind jamie's currently in gta with walmart trevor (aka ryan of cowboy hat picture frame) and his girlfriend and his cat...... probably gonna propose....... meanwhile your best friend is being sort of annoying in a way you can't call him out for without being a hypocrite...... well yeah, i'd fuck my best friend's brother and childhood crush too.
