It was nice to hear Sunny talk so kindly about Nico (& Gritsyuk) in his Town Hall yesterday with season ticket holders about their extensions. Speaking of the Devils YouTube had it. It starts around the 18:39 mark. I wish one of the bigger Twitter accounts would post it with all the dumb trade rumors around Nico.

the state of our beat is absolutely awful but this bit really tickled me lol

I was here when we drafted [Nico], he was a great kid, and now I've seen him turn into a great young man.

reminds me of all the grown men on reddit that call nico their first-born son

also overall just a good town hall from sunny! the questions were mostly softballs but it's still nice to hear a gm that doesn't rip a massive "uhhhhh" before fumbling through his answers

hopefully the stuff he said about carving out their own identity as a team instead of just copying other winning teams actually shows through adjustments from sheldon. that, and his point about not over-focusing on optimising jack's line to the detriment of the rest of the roster. cautiously excited to see what he does this offseason!
