Flora and Fauna stuff is here!! ๐๐ฟ
I got my box of Flora and Fauna stuff like two days ago and am only just getting around to posting about it haha, sorry for the delay ๐
I've never posted my opinion of products in even a remotely "review" kind of style, so I apologize in advance if this reads weirdly, or if I've missed anything! Feel free to message me or comment about anything I've missed, or any questions you might have ๐
(I also apologize for the lighting and the quality of the photos! I took them in the dining room at night, that was the only time and place to take them)
They wrote a lil message on the inside of the box, which actually made me happy, especially since I had a stressful day ahead of me. And as you can see, NO PLASTIC!!! Well, there was some tape on the box but that's it. I did choose minimal packaging, and I'm happy to see it really is very minimal!!
I ordered two bread bags, an 8pack of reusable produce bags (both onya brand) and a sample deodorant paste tin (woohoo brand, mellow/for sensitive skin)
The bread bag feels nice to me, which is kinda important for me because I'm pretty big on textures - if it feels gross I don't want it. IDK how to describe the texture really, maybe kind of like a thin wet bag I guess?
I'm not too sure on how best to roll it up for storage or in my bag, but that's probably because I haven't really tried yet. I've been storing bread in it for the past two days (no pics of that) and it's pretty easy to use. No complaints from my brother yet either :)
I've included photos of the front of the boxes, the back of the box, and of the bag itself laid out. I've also included a photo of the inner layer being pulled out - looks like it should be pretty easy to clean!
So far I like this product quite a bit, but have only been using it for a few days.
I haven't used the produce bags just yet, but as far as first impressions go, I like them! They're a good size for the shopping I do, and for the shopping my mum does (who I will most likely give four bags to)
I'll be using one tomorrow for some apples, I don't think I'll have any issues with them. I really like the purple, and I think it's cool that I can clip it onto my bag if I want!
I've included photos of the purple bag full of the produce bags, a produce bag by itself, as well as the back of the box. Didn't get a photo of the front of the box by itself and can't be bothered taking one TBH
First thing I noticed about this when I patch tested it on my inner elbow was that I did not like the smell. My nose just disagreed with it, which happens with some scents - it can be an okay smell, but as soon as my nose smells it, it's an immediate nope
But I tried it properly yesterday morning and I didn't mind the smell at all - its pretty subtle. I think I may have just disliked it the first day because I was already feeling kind of iffy in my stomach and was in the car at the time.
It works pretty well so far! I walked around between shops and buildings, inside and outside for about two hours yesterday, wearing all black, my hair down (which I struggle to do bc I hear up very very easily) and carrying stuff in my bag, and as far as I could tell, I didn't smell.
My pits weren't like, super dry, but I think they might have been a bit drier than when I've used other normal deodorants from the shops.
I reapplied it for my workout (which was brutal and I still hurt from) and it held up as good as other deodorants I think, probably better. And I used it today and yet again, no smell, and a bit drier I think than my other deodorants.
It's pretty easy to apply, and the size is small so it's so easy to carry around with me if I need to. And as I said before, I really don't mind the smell and it's quite subtle; when it's actually on my pits and not my fingers, I can't smell it at all.
I also had it in the car for over four hours the day I patch tested it, and it didn't melt horribly; it was just a little easier to get some on my finger.
I like all three products so far! No complaints whatsoever, from myself or anyone else. I really like that the bread bags and produce bags are made from recycled items. The paste will last me a while I think, and it works well. The packaging it all arrived in was nice, it was free of unecessary plastic (big big bonus) and I'm just really happy with it all so far!
If my opinions change I'll make a post or an update about it. I'll probably post in about how I feel about all three products in like a month or so anyway, regardless of if I love them or dislike them.
Sorry for such a long post about this. I'm not very good at being brief - I'm working on it - and again, if I've missed something or you have any questions, feel free to ask!!!
