As part of our mission to rid the world's oceans of plastic, we've come across a lot of waste, but what do we do with it? Everything we can!
Depending on the environment and location we are removing waste from, the pathways are different, but we work with our local partners to develop responsible waste management solutions that take into account local realities and contexts. And, in some cases, we are able to create meaningful products that can support our mission, which not only raises awareness of plastic pollution, but also funds the cleanup and challenges perceptions of what 'waste' is.

I made this poster to raise awareness of the plastic pollution in the ocean and how it affects marine life 🌊. 100,000 marine mammals die every year due to plastic pollution, and all we as a society need to do is recycle ♻️, use reusable water bottles 💦, cook more at home 🧑🏼🍳and use eco-friendly packaging 📦.
All seven sea turtle species 🐢 are endangered due to plastic pollution whether that's by consuming or getting entangled in plastic. According to WWF Australlia "An estimated 640,000 tonnes of the 8 million tonnes of plastic that enters the oceans every year is so-called ghost fishing equipment, gear that’s either deliberately jettisoned or washed from ships or shorelines." 🎣
