— on the topic of research , i always advise researching Black language & AAVE & the importance of Black hair as a big part of learning the culture . its smth a lot of nb folx dont rlly think abt in my experience . u can also research specific African cultures as well if you like !

— i emphasize again : TALK TO BLACK FOLX !!! of ALL types ! Black folx from every continent , queer Black folx , disabled Black folx , ALL OF US !! being Black shapes a lot of experiences !!

— for Blasian specifically , dont JUST research Black and Asian culture(s) separately (though you ABSOLUTELY should do that as well) , research the mixed communities of those countries !! being Black and Japanese is a different experience to being Black and Thai which is a different experience from being Black and Korean , etc. etc. !!

— above all , do not be performative . i mean , dont force yourself to "sound Black" or "act Black" . being Black shapes us all differently . it isnt about how you act , or sound , or where you live . its a special part of you !! Blackness isnt a monolith !!
