"ctdr is bad because they always have an alt account that they're openly trace on, so they treat being a person of colour like something they can take on and off!" is such a dumb argument, I can't believe I've seen it multiple times
ignoring the weird assumption that all trace people are ciswhite transitioning to an ethnicity that isn't white, the reason why many ctdr people have alt accounts is because we are literally considered insane and weird by a decent chunk of people and there is social change that needs to be made before a majority of us can be open about it
think about it this way: if all of your friends really really hated people who love pasta, but you were secretly a pasta lover and wanted to express your feelings, you would probably make an alternative account so they don't make fun of you, drop you as a friend, or possibly physically hurt you, right? kind of an absurd comparison, but you get my drift. alt accounts are often used for ctdr people's own social, emotional, or physical safety.
saying that "being able to take being a person of colour on and off" makes someone or something bad is also exclusionary to mixedrace and/or whitepassing bipoc, as it's sometimes safer to just... pretend that you're white in certain situations (i have a personal experience i could use as an example, but that's a yap for another day). it is a privilege that we can lie our way out of situations where someone is being racist, yes, but it doesn't make us any less of our ethnicity
