The UK Labour govt has proposed changes to the teaching about gender in schools that amount to a new Section 28 - essentially teaching that every form of gender identity is wrong, that a very basic and inaccurate xx = female XY = male form of biological sex is the only truth, and preventing school staff sharing their own gender identity or discussing it with pupils.

Section 28 seriously fucked me up as a teen and I do not intend to let them do this to a new generation of queer kids.

Hi! I'm Autumn, I'm Trans Non Binary, my Pronouns are He/They. I'm currently only out to my younger sibling. As of right now I don't plan to physically Transition. I do struggle with Dysphoria, on and off but a lot more lately for some reason.

I’ve seen posts (mainly on Instagram) about how you don’t need dysphoria in order to be trans, and I’m honestly not sure if the person/people posting this are using trans as an umbrella term for both the binary and the non binary or whether they’re using JUST the binary (man/woman).

Coming from an agender person who has (most probably) gender dysphoria, I can see why a non binary person wouldn’t need body dysphoria, though I (again, most probably) have a bit of body and pronoun dysphoria myself as it really depends on what non binary gender you identify as. BUT, if you’re trans binary then it makes sense for you to have AT LEAST gender dysphoria, even if you don’t have body dysphoria if that makes sense.

One account on instagram, which I won’t name so that people won’t send hate, was saying that you could have euphoria INSTEAD of dysphoria if you’re trans. I would agree with this, if it was “as well as”, since euphoria and dysphoria are like two sides of a coin.

Let’s say you were assigned female at birth BUT you’re a trans man. You would have dysphoria about she/her pronouns but have euphoria about he/him pronouns. So it kinda makes sense to have both if you’re trans (binary or non binary).

You may not necessarily notice either one at a young age, but once you come out they may become more noticeable and they would explain some things.
