Theyfab is for people who got too woke to say foid but not woke enough to not want to say foid
”theyfab is meant to critique a Specific Kind of Trans Person who leverages their assigned gender at birth to be bigoted”
so why not just say that instead of the fucking 4chan hate speech.
this is exorsexism
firstly, presentation doesnt equal gender, if a nonbinary person looks feminine but says they're nonbinary, then guess what? THEYRE FUCKING NONBINARY
secondly, yes if you dont use a persons preferred pronouns because they don't look a certain way then yes you are a transphobe
thirdly, based on the example, mark is a transphobe. can you imagine if after you misgendered and deadnamed a trans woman you called her a "shemale"? we can all understand how that's transphobic but its not when done to an enby? double standard much?
I know SEVERAL afab nonbinary people who, as soon as they came out as nonbinary - immediately began dressing in ridiculous hyper-femme outfits they never would have worn before. A lot of people see this and say shit like “Theyfab” or say they are only nonbinary for attention. After all, look how femme they are.
But to me, this makes perfect sense. When you are forced into the category of “woman” against your will, femininity is a chore. It’s a job that you have. As soon as you say no, I’m not a woman, suddenly femininity isn’t your job anymore. It’s not a requirement. It’s just a fun hobby you can get into. Or a little treat sometimes.

Is "Theyfab" a slur?
There has recently been a claim going around that "theyfab" is not a slur, and is in fact, primarily used as a way for transfems to call out or vent their frustrations about transmisogyny.
Some examples of this claim can be found in the screenshots below:
So, is this really the case? Does "theyfab" primarily exist as a way to call out transmisogyny?
This wikitionary page on the word, cites some of the earliest found examples of the word.
The earliest archived example is of a Twitter post, quoting something that says "theyfab trannies". So, we can safely say that
1. The word pre-exists the earliest archives we have of it
2. The word has been used in an explicitly derogatory way
There is no record of what the Twitter user was responding to, so we don't know the context of the phrase they were quoting.
The earliest recorded usage of theyfab on 4chan is from late 2018. The usage of it in the post, again, strongly implies that the word had already been in use prior to, we just don't have records of it.
However, we do have records of it being used in a derogatory way, in a manner that has nothing to do with calling out transmisogyny.
Most of the earlier usages do appear to be used mainly by trans people, but always in derogatory ways. You could make the argument that some of the early examples are venting about intracommunity issues, but the prevalence of the term being used in outright transphobic manners in that same time period really lends credence to the fact that it is, first and foremost, to be a slur.
if you think people who were assigned female at birth discussing the effects that assignment had on their lives or acknowledging their secondary sexual characteristics = misgendering themselves… it just tells me that you still equate sex/genitals to gender tbh :/
Fascinating how the same people who argue that "binary trans" is a slur will say they "theyfab" isn't
